Cardcaptor Sakura

Episodes – 70 + 2
Video – 1440×1080 @ crf 19, 960×720 @ crf 18
Audio – 5.1 FLAC
Subs – R1 (Heavily Modified, Re-styled)

Torrent – 1080p – 720p

We had two options. We could either release the movies in 8-bit or re-encode the entire series to 10-bit using BDMVs instead of raws this time. We chose the latter.
Thanks to Techguru for providing fixed scripts (which we changed back to our own style).

    Thanks A LOT.
    Re-downloading this =]

  2. meork writes:

So why is the 720p batch larger now?

  3. JohnGHN writes:

Can’t remember when I posted that I wanted Cardcaptor Sakura in 10-bit…
    Dreams come true T^T

  4. muxmeister writes:

    @meork
because they re-encoded straight from the BDMVs now, not from pre-encoded raws… you get more detail in this batch basically

  5. Kokonoe writes:

Er, so, is anyone else getting the “An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions” error?

  6. Kokonoe writes:

It’s ONLY this tracker that I have the problem with. No idea why it happens.

  7. アノン writes:

weeellll the batches might be bigger, but this also includes the movies in higher resolution, if you exclude them you get the difference i said…. or actually save ~2gigs more, forgot to exclude them 😀

  8. asfgsfghd writes:

requesting some screenshots of the 1080p that aren’t dead links

  9. Kokonoe writes:

Nevermind, fixed the problem. No idea why peerblock didn’t shut down when I shut it down…

  10. Hadi writes:

Is this released in Hi10p ? I didn’t see any tag that seems related to Hi10p in filename. I’m consider to download Hi10p if available instead of 8 bit because of smaller filesize and smaller bandwith for me. Thank You

  11. meiko writes:

Is this version 10-bit now? Would you please put a tag in the file name in other series so we know it’s 10-bit?

  12. Boo writes:

    Learned helplessness at its best…

  13. korewa writes:

Are even the 720p 10bit? That seems pointless since you have 1080p for high quality.
I can’t play 10bit and I’m really disappointed with a few groups who are cutting out 8bit completely when 99% of anime is still encoded that way and looks fine as is…

  14. Kokonoe writes:

This is the 10 bit version, guys. Yes, even the 720p. CGi apparently don’t tag it in their files (I sort of wish they would, but no bother).

Times are changing, technology is evolving, and we have to move along with it.

korewa, are you sure you’ve tried everything possible? Maybe following this guide here?: http://haruhichan.com/wpblog/?p=205

Hi10p playback should not be a problem, even with an older computer, if you have the correct software.

I have zero playback issues and have followed that guide to the T.

Make sure you do step 0 and uninstall everything. CCCP, Haali, MPC-HC, CoreAVC, ffdshow, EVERYTHING before you begin.

  15. rude writes:

Yes I agree with some people, please CG put a tag on it stating it’s Hi10P in the file name or something cannot even tell what’s 8bit what’s 10bit very confusing.

    Or you could just read.

  17. alex writes:

you can just assume everything new from cgi is 10bit. They’ve already said it like 10 times.

  18. ichigo_daisuki writes:

I sincerely thank you ^_^ that’s all I can say.

  19. rude writes:

@MahaiOne Like OMG like really? like wow… moron.
Thanks Alex for the suggestion I’ll just assume everything’s in 10bit.

  20. MahaiOne writes:

At least I’m a moron that can read.

    I am dancing. 🙂

  22. Your Future writes:

I will be waiting for a version that uses the normal 8 bits. This new encoding is just silly.

  23. TomoyaX writes:

@Your Future: you will be waiting for a long time then…
The old batches were 8bits, just find them somewhere else.

  24. korewa writes:

@kokonoe, Thanks but I know my stuff. I just can’t play it on my hardware. It’s only about 4 years old but it can’t keep up the framerate despite always using the most updated software. Even 8bit 1080p is sometimes a problem. Not only that, but I don’t exclusively watch on PC and my other devices don’t even support 10bit.

  25. Kokonoe writes:

I’m able to watch Hi10p on a six year old computer. A laptop. You need to clear up some space or something, defrag your computer.

No idea why it won’t work for you.

  26. korewa writes:

It’s mainly a work PC. Around 100gb free, reformat once a year, everything running as well as it can… but only 1k MHz ,500mb RAM.

I know this is where well-off teens living at their parent’s expense would tell me to get a new PC (fag) but I live on my own and go to school and just manage to feed myself most days. So a new PC just to watch anime is not an option.

Anyway, I’m fine with finding an 8bit version somewhere. Guess I won’t be getting any more CG releases. It will be a dark day for me if Doki goes full 10bit too though. Thankfully they said they’ll keep 8bit for 720p.

  27. Guy writes:

    @korewa:
    You can always re-encode it.

  28. korewa writes:

@guy, yeah I do re-encode some shows but mainly older or small shows that don’t take much time or resources. This one is too long and files are too large. Better to just find 8bit source.

@chrisk, I meant to type <1k, would saying 1GHz have kept you from making a pointless troll comment? What is it with the fansubbers/encoders these days that they all go out of their way to be unhelpful dicks towards everyone on their sites?

    • ChrisK writes:

If we were helping every single idiot that posts here, we wound’t have time to work on our projects anymore.

  29. korewa writes:

@chrisk, plenty of time to make immature troll comments though, right?

Anyway, I found an 8bit source so sayonara, CG. I wish you well, despite your stunted social skills.

  30. Kokonoe writes:

    Lol’d, ChrisK. :X

Man, I love you CGi peoples. You make my day lol. Good anime and funny jokes.

  31. MahaiOne writes:

    @korewa
Mixing SI prefixes? No wonder you got laughed at.

  32. Arbonaut writes:

    Anyway, this is just beautyfull.

    Thank you very much!

  33. Bellum writes:

Thanks for completing the series and doing the Sakura Diaries too. Although I’d like to report that the timings for the Kero-chan ni Omakase special (movie 2 post-credits) seem to be off (at least in the 1080p version). A v2 or patch would be very much appreciated.

  34. bachkima writes:

I don’t see special “leave it to Kero” in this, why don’t you try to complete this special.
    Thank you very much!!

  35. mick writes:

    Thanks doing the series, btw!

Just wondering, is anyone else getting a lot of artifacts in the 1080p version of movie 1?

  36. mick writes:

Thanks for* doing the series, btw! Sorry, guess i rushed that a bit…

  37. Larnu writes:

I noticed you’ve removed the ol;d tracker from Nyaa, did you have to? I’m at 83Gb’s compelte, and I really don’t want start all over again as it’s been going for over 2 weeks…

  38. can writes:

    Goddamn fucking 10 horseshit!!

  39. DmonHiro writes:

Did you just re-release the whole fucking thing again in 10bit? FUCK YEAH!!!!

  40. Jean writes:

Thanks a lot for uploading the 1080p version in fileserve, it will be of great help.
    Good luck with your projects.

  41. AsoTamaki writes:

Can someone post a few comparison screens between this and the old encode? Thanks.

  42. Nikelmar writes:

Great work but the subtitles for the Kero-chan special are off. They appear like 2 seconds earlier than they should for the whole thing. -_-

  43. miracles writes:

So CCs already in 10-bit version from BDMV source??

If that the case time to download the series.

    Thank’s for your’s awesome release.

  44. erreib writes:

Really great release! I love 10-bit. But just one question- is there any reason you don’t use MegaUpload for DDLs?

  45. gloubix writes:

Hello, first of all thank you for your work, it’s very nice waching that old serie with in HD. I also have question. Is this the american version where some scene have been cut or is it the japanese one? Thank you. Sorry if i make some error, i am french

  46. erreib writes:

This is the Japanese version (Cardcaptor Sakura), not the American one (Cardcaptors). You’re not going to find that version very easily.

  47. nstgc writes:

@erreib I think FS pays better.

  48. hunter-n writes:

Hello, thank you for re-releasing this beautiful show in awesome quality. I have one question, why when I play the creditless OP3 I see the karaoke nice, but when I play any episode that contain that opening, the letters appear to close to each other?

I got the 720p version, thanks for your help.

  49. dragonsword50 writes:

can someone plz seed the 720p version more

  50. anon writes:

I have been seeding the 720p on a 100/100 connection since it was released. It’s not even using up all of my bandwidth (in fact it barely goes over 5mb/s) so the problem is most of the people I’m seeding to don’t have good enough upload to share it with the rest of the pool.
