Notes:
I did this series due to these reasons:

  1. Ordered chapters make ♦Tenshi♦ mad. Annoying compatibility issues ect ect.
  2. Hard-subbing destroys original video IMO
  3. Lack of flac audio makes ♦Tenshi♦ sad

    Though are you SURE that the 1080 source is interlaced? I’ve watched Thora’s variant, and that in terms of quality and sharpness actually even manages to beat the Fate/stay night Movie. If I remember right, didn’t Aquaplus (the studio that this anime belongs to) remake Uta just to release it as full HD?

    Interlacing is not trivial. It’s either there or it isn’t, it’s not an encoder decision.

    (I captured the screenshots as BMPs and converted them to JPEGs using Photoshop CS5 at maximum compression. So there isn’t any visible differences unless you zoom in and inspect every pixel.)

    So, video quality-wise, I suspect that THORA applied a slight warpsharp filter to smooth out edges here and there, but other than that, I don’t see any other differences.

Would you then consider releasing just the OPs and EDs in 1080 for the poor sods who downloaded 20GB+ worth of Thora’s 1080? Just to be rid of the hard-subbing on those files… But yeah, will lurk and see how this turns out here regardless.

    Not the NC OPs and EDs. The ones WITH credits. The ones from Thora have hard-subbing karaoke (ie lyrics) stamped on them, alas, why I was asking… In all honesty, I couldn’t care less for the NC variants…

Though I ain’t expecting too much considering not even TokyoTosho has the proper blu-ray images… And yes, please do queue up the credited 1080 OP and ED, though whenever you’re free. Don’t wanna hold you up doing more important prioritised work. I’ve got a few fonts on me that might be worth the remux, but as you say, the ordered chapters will be tedious when I get around to it. Though small baby steps at a time I always say.
