Cardcaptor Sakura

Episodes – 70 + 2
Video – 1440×1080 @ crf 19, 960×720 @ crf 18
Audio – 5.1 FLAC
Subs – R1 (Heavily Modified, Re-styled)

Torrent – 1080p – 720p

We had two options. We could either release the movies in 8-bit or re-encode the entire series to 10-bit using BDMVs instead of raws this time. We chose the latter.
Thanks to Techguru for providing fixed scripts (which we changed back to our own style).

Just wanted to say thank you. I had never seen this before and just finished it all tonight. Didn’t think I would enjoy it as much as I have, sad it is all over, but glad it’s under my belt. Thanks again for all your work.

just request for doing tsubasa chronicles BD. (series and ovas)
    I’ll waiting. thanks

  4. lainverse writes:

I wonder are there any real reason for 1080p version? I’ve watched 720p and in most cases it’s already too much. Is it just to see grains on grainy image in high res? O_o

  5. obedience writes:

Well as long as Coalgirls waits for BDMV unlike last time where they just used raws, if they waited they couldve gotten BDMV from torrent.

  6. lainverse writes:

BTW, comparison pics are long dead. I suggest not to use tinypic. According to my tests imageshak keeps images much longer.

  7. IZEROII writes:

OMG YESSSS to the movies. And imo CG really has done the best job on this show vs others. I actually took the 720 for this one because like someone said above the 1080 just seemed a little much. Not that I ever checked it out but due to the circumstances, 720 seemed the way to go.

Whatever though. Great series and stoked for the movies.

  8. sam writes:

I love your edits to the subtitles, but quite a few of the honorifics are transcribed incorrectly in the later episodes. I mainly noticed it in the last series.

  9. S.J. writes:

can i post a link to a thread where you can find DDLs for this?

  10. S.J. writes:

orz, they’re not mine so nvm then

    sorry for random post.
would you do tsubasa chronicles series+ova…
    its clamp, and there’s sakura
    thanks’

  13. E writes:

I have like over 20 seeds but my download speed is about 1.0kb/s
    Seriously wonder why….

  14. Kailas writes:

For some reasons, the ED1 lags for me even in 720. Not that it matters much, just wondering why. I never have lag on any other anime in 1080.

  15. kyuzo writes:

    ThX! Thx this is awesome.
I would also like to ask u to consider tsubasa chronicles.
unless you prefer mainichi kaa-san as your next project, which I would eternally be grateful for
    🙂

Im fixing these scripts so for anyone who notices any mistakes please put them in a text file and paste them on pastebin…with a link here…need eps number and approximate time…and please post more then 1 error…should be 4 or 5 before u do it

  17. tech writes:

I’ll check back in a few days

  18. tek writes:

Fixed CARD CAPTOR SAKURA Coalgirls scripts…some timing fixed…and all the hororifics added/fixed from original coalgirls scripts…changed the styling too since the pink was to bright…
also added kara for ep 70 ending..tho it might be kinda bad

    http://www.mediafire.com/?7i9ihfd811477yy

you can use a macro program to add these to the original files…I used workspace macro

unless someone wants to make a batch file for this

  19. dslite4000 writes:

What do you mean “macro program”? Do you mean mkvmerge?

  20. tech writes:

a program that will do stuff for you without u having to touch the pc

  21. deyes writes:

Tek – about those subs. What kind of changes did you make? ‘Cause I kinda prefer Coalgirls’ styling (yours looks really small when I play it in Mplayer OSX Extended), so am just wondering if there were many significant changes?

  22. tech writes:

quit a few..10-15 changes per script
tho if u don’t like the styling that an easy fix….just change the style to how u like it and remux the scripts with the mkv with mkvtoolsnix gui
would probably take about 30 mins……maybe 30 seconds per script to mux…like I said I used a macro program to do it for me so I don’t have to sit there and do it all myself
I used workplace macro is the name of the program

OMG, I just started watching this series for the second time.
It was the first official anime series I watched on TV, years ago.

And now you tell me I need to wait 3 more weeks for the movies?! XD
I’m going to visit COALGIRLS everyday until it is out!!!

  24. SoupRKnowva writes:

well ive decided to go ahead and seed the 1080p version at around 400k for the next couple weeks, so get it while its hot people!

  28. Maiku writes:

    YES! FIRST MOVIE!!!
Thank you so much! I waited so long for this day!

I wish there would be Rapidshare links, but i’ll manage with torrents.

  29. kuruta_tribe writes:

Every day waiting for this feels like waiting forever, and now the time has come.
Dear Coalgirls, many thanks for bringing this lovely anime. And after you release the 2nd Movie, I will say: I Love You.

  30. XiThau writes:

@kuruta; Only after the 2nd movie you’ll say it?
I think all of us love coalgirls, already.

  31. Sol writes:

So much for your comment that the movies would be in 8-bit since it was an older project, i should have guessed you talking rubbish [just for a change].

  32. mtwini09 writes:

The recpetion recieved here is much more pleasant than in Nyaa. 😀

  33. Lain_13 writes:

Could someone here show comparison between 720p and 1080p versions? I can’t figure out where is the difference. Real one, not in grains size.

  34. toto writes:

Ghaaa the torrent is so slow 🙁
    Anyway thanks for the work!

  35. Bob writes:

Why is the movie torrent so grainy? I tried using VLC and got a green screen with only audio. I tried media player classic and some of the scenes are blocky and grainy. What player should I use?

  36. AlpacasLoveDancing writes:

@Bob: Grain is likely part of the source. VLC is a non-recommended player since it is inconsistent. Use mplayer2 instead.

  37. Bob writes:

    Thanks!

Would the regular eps be done in Hi10P in the future?

    I LOVE YOU COALGIRLS

  41. dymitr writes:

Great, now I just hope that making this 10-bit saved me some storagespace.

  42. charmander writes:

wow this is just awesome, thanks a lot

  43. アノン writes:

hi10p saves ~5 gig for the 720p version and ~10 for the 1080p version

  44. MahaiOne writes:

Actually, the 10bit version is bigger.

  45. Nettosama writes:

Any updates to the scripts? Someone posted fixes to the scripts earlier in this post, IDK if those were implemented in the official ones.

  46. Mugi writes:

omigad. The whole series in Hi10p? Fuck. Yes.

Clearing space off of my D drive right now lol. Hurry up, you bastard USB 2.0! I need to upgrade to 3.0.

    ㅠ_ㅠ

Hey, thanks for getting the movies up! Any advice on converting Hi10p to 8 bit? I intend to watch on my TV via a media player, and Hi10p is simply incompatible. Tried running it through HandBrake to no avail. (already have the 8 bit versions of the series, so it’s just the movies that are the issue.)
