   @Björn – Yes, 10-bit encodes break hardware acceleration in mainstream devices (GPUs, set-top boxes, chips used in smartphones, etc) because 10-bit was never meant for the consumer/mainstream space. It’s geared more toward professionals.

   In my opinion, just because the majority of the community prefers to call it 10-bit, doesn’t mean it’s wrong for others to call it Hi10P, seeing that they’re both the same thing.

   Yeah, the 10-bit encoding for C3 was done for the TV RAWS, as the source was – to put it bluntly – shockingly bad. The BDs fixed that up, so there’s no need for 10-bit encoding unless you can (seriously) notice the slightly increased banding on dark surfaces (and in C3 they aren’t that bad).

   So TL;DR: 8-bit encoding is the best for this series (Compatibility + barely noticeable quality difference, if at all). I assume the file-sizes would have been similar as well.
