CoalGirls, THORA, and REVO… I wonder why the three of you released the same exact film around the same time?

    • coalgirl writes:

At least for me, it was pure coincidence. I needed a movie for 1 week after Nanoha’s movie, and this one was one I had always loved and had planned to do months ago.

Went for Doki’s version long ago and it’s not worth the swapping that one out for this or Thora’s since it’s a waste of bandwidth.

    where’s part 1?

  8. revo writes:

    @elmaton04
Doki is not good choice for ghibli movies
their encoding is on par with someone who just discovered handbrake 😛

Coalgirl did a very good job on this one

  9. elmaton04 writes:

@revo, well Coalgirls is obviously a better choice since the encoding is better. However, I just don’t want to waste that much bandwidth for a slight upgrade when I could just wait for the actual NA BD release. I like to buy my Ghibli movies when they come out in the states.

what is the english audio in this one? the streamline or disney?

  11. migx writes:

Like always, thx for the high quality release!
But still, one of the best (though only in my opinion) Ghibli-films is missing: Will there be a Princess Mononoke in the near future??
Also, why are there so many diff. audio-languages but only like 2 subs?

    • coalgirl writes:

For Ghibli I include all audio files and all subtitle tracks presented on the disc using Arabic letters in the release. So there were only 2 tracks that had Arabic letters.

  12. migx writes:

Ah, yes makes sense; though i think you mean the Latin letters (not trying to be some smartass fag, so pls dont take it in as an insult lol) since you probably mixed up Latin letters with the Arabic digits. But still I wonder why there is no German sub because it uses Latin letters as well (except ä,ö,ü; whereas ä=ae, ö=oe, ü=ue). Just sth. trivial I wanted to mention.

Is this the 2010 new English audio with the original score, or the earlier one with the Americanized score? They’re totally different, even with extra lines in the earlier one. Might be worth including that for historical interest.

Thank you for this!! Kiki’s also my favorite ghibli movie, right ahead of castle in the sky. Anyways, I watched the English dub a week ago, but noticed that they really toned it down to be more like the original Japanese dub. My favorite dub is the original English dub that came out in….whenever kiki first came out in America (1998?). Does the kiki bluray not have the original kiki English dub? I loved the extra lines and expressions that Phil Hart and Kirsten Dunst gave to kiki and jiji not in the Japanese dub, and it made me sad to not hear them. =(

You guys are the best, thank you so much for all you do!

  19. LALA writes:

why is it 13gb? I don’t understand how a movie could require that much GB

  20. Delgon writes:

It is the same with everything. You want quality you have to download more. You can always get some 1GB trash bitrate encodes somewhere on the web. Here you will only get high bitrate quality releases.
