Ah, wasn’t aware of that, gotcha. Well darn that sucks. Here’s hoping for some surprise on an extra BD or something 😛

    I love you guys/girls.
    So, so, so much.
    Thank you.
    Words can’t explain this.
Coalgirls best girls, also heard a rumor that you may be the best coals as well, would love to hear official feedback on that one.

  4. BigChoad writes:

Thank you for doing this! I just want to ask one thing, will you be changing the typesetting and color fonts in the OPs&EDs like you did with the other Monogatari openings in the complete batch? Because I really like how you did Nise’s OPs when the fonts and colors transitioned with accordance to the scene. Again, thank you!

  5. bliblablu writes:

hey guys , i wanted to know if this is real 1080p or only upscaled?

  6. Itheral writes:

Can’t say enough in words to describe how great it is you guys decided you do this show. The thought of having to watch Commies release was making me depressed!

  7. Knwtmsyn writes:

@Itheral, can I ask why watching Commies would have been such a big deal?

  8. Pra7ul writes:

Awesome, now i will have complete collection of monogatari from coalgirls.
    Thanks as always.

  9. AxEl writes:

Did they removed the other OP of Otorimonogatari from the Blu-ray release?

  10. ghg92 writes:

When Will Onimonogatari will come 🙂

  11. hctaw writes:

Hey, thanks for the subs, but does anyone know around when the next arc will release here?

  12. That Guy writes:

Thanks very much for what you guys are doing. 🙂

    Looking forward to future releases.

  13. Bouncy writes:

hey guys just want to ask is this BD?

  14. Knwtmsyn writes:

“hey guys just want to ask is this BD?”

I was going to bitch at you because I thought it was completely obvious, but it really doesn’t say it anywhere, which would be confusing to someone who didn’t know. Yes btw, it is BD.

  15. Sparky Kestrel writes:

    Wow.
Thanks for picking this up again, especially after you dropped it before.
    Keep up the magnificent work!

  16. Dancho writes:

    TY for doing this!!

(And sry about my english, is not my native language)

  20. Roodien writes:

is anyone else besides me having a problem with no subs showing at all but typesetting, audio, video is visible and clear?

  21. Dancho writes:

Does your player support ASS/SSA subtitles? In KMP you have to manually turn them on.

  22. Alexis Lightning writes:

What is the current progress of this series? When will it be completed?

  23. Nikolay writes:

    Stupid question inbound.
Arc 1 is the first five series of the anime.
    Arc 2 from episode 6 to 9.
    Arc 3 from 10 to 13.
    Basically I’m downloading episodes 1-13.
And we are still waiting for 13+ episodes.
    Correct?

  24. Cloud-9 writes:

The Blu-Rays don’t contain the summary episodes, so they’ll be 23 episodes instead of 26. So the first 3 arcs are here and the last 2 are what we are currently waiting for.

  25. Cloud-9 writes:

Hanamonogatari official name is Monogatari Series: Second Season +α
Aug 16, 2014 is a date of broadcast for all 5 episodes*
Season 2 altogether will include 31 episodes, not including intermissions.

    *might be wrong

  28. coalgirl writes:

Note that while Hanamonogatari will air on TV on August 16th, its BDs aren’t until 9/24 and 10/22.

  29. Recap writes:

the Blu Rays DO have the Recap episodes included…

    thx for the release btw

  30. tex writes:

I guess someone laughed alot when inventing the whole arc thing..as it don’t make sense.

Btw, is this one of the series where the BD is worse than the broadcast, iow in
the same way as Nisekoi (scenes simplified, removed backgrounds etc)?

  31. nin writes:

each arc is an adaption of a book, makes perfect sense

I noticed you’re going now (arc 4) with “iron-blooded, hot-blooded and cold-blooded vampire”, so thanks about that! Should we assume you’ll v2 the previous episode?

    Thanks!

  33. Kurausukun writes:

Any news on that whole “Otorimonogatari commentary patches don’t work” thing? I still have no idea how to fix that.

    • coalgirl writes:

Put the folder into your C:\ drive, or your D:\ drive. The problem is the length of the filename’s path.

  34. That Guy writes:

Thanks a lot. Appreciate your efforts a lot.

Enjoy your vacation, once again. 😉

  35. Eruzo writes:

Didn’t expect this one before your vacation. Thanks as always 🙂

  36. Knwtmsyn writes:

How many more arcs are there for season 2?

    • coalgirl writes:

      2. Koimonogatari, which is 6 episodes long, and Hanamonogatari which is 5. Koi has all its BDs out already and is only constrained by how long the typesetting process takes. Hana won’t be out on BD in Japan until October 22nd.

  37. tom writes:

Cool to see another arc released! Suppose I’ll be able to watch this show one day after all.

Here’s a crappy attempt at a bash renaming script. (it’s basically just the batch files with *nix stuff subbed in)
    [EDIT: New version below]
It’s for the 1080p release. I strongly suggest installing renameutils to get qmv though.

    • ChrisK writes:

RenameBroadcastOrder.sh seems to be broken (contains multiple scripts and other garbage) when unpacked on OS X, don’t run that.

  41. hoseofsnake writes:

will there be a batch of just the season two arcs or will you be waiting for hanamonogatari and batching them all together?

    • coalgirl writes:

It’ll be after Hana. You can just go to the official website to see Hana is considered part of Monogatari Second Season.

  42. Dave writes:

Re: ChrisK (RenameBroadcastOrder.sh seems to be broken (contains multiple scripts and other garbage) when unpacked on OS X, don’t run that.), since I have no idea how to directly reply.

I accidentally tarred all of the other files into that one, this version should be fine.

PS, please don’t run any scripts, from anyone, without reading them first.

  43. Dusk writes:

In the BD they inserted the OP in episode 5 of Nekomonogatari Shiro (it wasn’t present in the TV broadcast) but with different audio – the second part of the Chocolate Insomnia instead of the first part. Here the OP is the exact same in that episode. I consider it quite important since it reflects the change in Hanekawa’s perspective and her wanting to do something about the situation, the lyrics are fitting for the resolution to the arc.
Can you do something about that?
    Thank you in advance.

  44. Raggers writes:

coalgirl – thanks for yet another awesome release!

I don’t normally care for Karaoke, but for the old-school bits in the Senjougahara/Kaiki OP (iirc it’s Koimonogatari) Commie used a font which emulated the old yellow vobsubs, and it was awesome.

There were no effects either, just plain subs, so it’d fit with your style without an issue. The yellow subs actually fit in surprisingly well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvIEztK_gwQ

I know you’ll do whatever you want, but this karaoke made me laugh (in happiness) when I first saw it and was hoping you’d like it enough to use it in your release.

    All the best,
    Raggers

    • coalgirl writes:

No. Commie is only used where I have no other choice, not because I want to. We aim to include the highest quality subs in our release, which Commie is not.

  45. Anon writes:

Commie getting blown the fuck out.

  46. Raggers writes:

coalgirl – I fully agree on the subs, it’s only the styling for this particular OP which I was interested in, not the words.

Actually, I don’t like how they switched between vobsub-styled and “normal” kara quickly along with the video. But the vobsub-styling choice was pretty nostalgic, and adds to what the OP is trying to evoke, which is what subs are supposed to do anyway.

Commie may have their issues, but the vobsub styling for old-school OP was a clever choice.

  47. Anon writes:

Gonna have to agree with Raggers on this one. Normally I’m not a fan of Commie, but their styling on the Koimonogatari OP actually fit really well and added to the feel that the OP was trying to convey.

I actually saw their version of the OP without knowing it was Commie and I was pretty surprised that it was them. It didn’t feel like the usual trolling; it just felt like a clever styling choice that added to the OP’s feel.

    thank you
Can you give me the translation files

  49. COmmieSucks writes:

CG’s, you’re not alone. DDY had thier Nyaa Trusted status revoked (by a Nyaa moderator from Commie) for daring to release Hanamonogatari 01 before Commie.

    • coalgirl writes:

Yeah. I usually do a comparison of subtitles before I choose what group to use in each Monogatari series (Commie completely failing each time due to overly liberal editing and BS cookie-cutter scripts that are to be expected from a group that only cares about the downloads, not the show), but their recent action have made me consider just using DDY for Hana without any comparison. They are not an ethical group and do not deserve the favor of having their BDs done by me.

  50. meh writes:

Nah, I’d rather you use CR for Hanamono. Because DDY’s translations weren’t exactly that great either tbh 🙁 Especially for a show like Monogatari you would want good translations.
