Thank You, Guys and Gals so much. You were the first website I visited when I got into fan-subbing and I really hold you guys up to the standard which all other groups have to meet. Thanks Again!

  2. Axeshizzle writes:

I can’t for the life of me figure out why I can’t get these commentaries to work.
    What am I doing wrong?

  3. miner girls writes:

And the miner girls deliver. A great day.

  4. Axeshizzle writes:

Nevermind. Apparently, trying the exact same thing a bunch of time helps.

  5. coalgirl writes:

Commentaries have an issue on windows with path/file name length. That’s why something like Nekomonogatari Shiro’s commentaries are just called Neko Shiro. With this, it will work if place directly in the drive.

  6. Niko writes:

    i love you <3

  7. KPolice writes:

So you did it after all 🙂
    Thank you so much!!!

  8. nIgor writes:

what is this? Bakemonogatari Season 2?

I don’t really get those names, why don’t just call it like creepy horse guy 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and of course 9/11.

  9. BibleThump writes:

So you’re doing it after all?
    THANK YOU
I THINK IM CRYING A LITTLE BIT NOW

  10. Kurausukun writes:

I am getting an error message applying the commentary patches that “not enough storage is available to process the command.” And before anyone asks, I have increased IRPStackSize. Windows 7 64-bit. Halp.

  11. LM writes:

@Kurausukun: Do you have enough HDD space?

  12. Kurausukun writes:

I have plenty of HDD space (159GB free), and 16GB of RAM. This is really frustrating me.

  13. Kurausukun writes:

Update: After some messing around, I found the error only occurs on Otorimonogatari EPs 1-3.

  14. Kurausukun writes:

@CDB-Man: As I said earlier, the problem has nothing to do with the file name/path length being too long.

  15. 2hapi2tinkanem writes:

I’m sorry to impose but you’re not going to add the second verse of chocolate insomnia? The one that plays at episode 5?

    • coalgirl writes:

I got SHAFTed. lol. This will be fixed in the batch. If anyone sees anything else wrong, please, point it out.

  16. Dman writes:

Ok, so people who have the subtitles working for the commentary (I am hoping they exist), are there any of you who are able to post an exact guide to getting them working? All the files were made properly, remade three times, renamed, and restarted the computer (not in this order). Is there actually any commentary subtitles in this release?

  17. Topazz writes:

Thank you so much! glad you decided to do it after all after all what happened

  18. poto writes:

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

  19. CuteHo writes:

And really thank you for picking up Monogatari S2.

  22. Solid1 writes:

You did season after all. You girls are such teases. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

  23. Doom44 writes:

    Umm I have a few noob questions…

Monogatari Season 2 is the last series that aired last year correct?

and you released all episodes correct? (since you mention something on a batch)

Also are the Arcs ordered in the right number order? (this series had many groups who done it with many mass up order numbers thank to the recaps)

I personally thinks that the arcs folders were really unnecessary since the show already had mess up ep order in the net… this just made things even more confusing

    thanks

  24. Doom44 writes:

    Oh and just random note

ordered chapters are considered annoying for most people since people who do them usually:

    1. uncut them right at the end or the beginning of the episode and it sometimes result in hearing the ending song start twice, and in the op case it usually result in seeing part of the ep for a sec before it start or other random stuff

    2. Another cut mistake that happened to people who cut things bad: usually result in seeing part of the last ep (like what happened to you guys with Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai se2) cut mistakenly into the beginning of the next one (I think it also happened to you with se1 of Haganai )

    3. Most people who cut ops and eds not give a dam if the ops or eds have ver1.5 (like when the very same op or ed songs have random changes in them such as adding new characters to them or changing the singer…) that result in the viewers (us) never being able to watch or know about them unless we look in the net and then discovering how annoying it was skip them 🙁 )

so yea… I know you do what you want without ask anyone but I still think it would be recommend if you think this truly, since for many it feel like the true otaku’s way 🙂

  25. Doom44 writes:

    * (like when the same very op or ed songs have random changes in them such as adding new characters or changing the singer…)

    * that result is the viewers

    * but I still think it will be recommend if you think this thoroughly

  26. John writes:

Hello I’m the minority that likes ordered chapters. Please don’t stop using them. Or do whatever as you please.

  27. John writes:

BTW Doom, there is a .bat file so you can order the episodes either by airing date or chronological order.

And IIRC, Coalgirls always adds all the OP and EDs with subtle changes… I think.

  28. addityo writes:

um coalgirls, about second verse in the OP, I think it’s happened in Nekomonogatari OP too (ep3 iirc), will you take a look at that??

  29. Daniel Qiu writes:

    You’re the best.

  30. Doom44 writes:

“BTW Doom, there is a .bat file so you can order the episodes either by airing date or chronological order.”

    Thanks John

but why would anyone want chronological order from a show that didn’t had one in the first place? : 0

It’s not the The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya…. Monogatari Season 2 didn’t aired with chronological order, it just had mess up numbers because some groups done the recap episode while other just skipped them.. that all from what I recall.

these bat files made things even more confusing :0

  31. akiba-kei writes:

    Thank you very much Girls!!!
Are the Coalgirls’ crew girls? :p
Didn’t expect this. SO, if the commentaries are video + audio, then there is no point for me to batch them since I don’t know jap 🙁

  32. drpepper writes:

I found that it is necessary to move the folder to the literal C:\ folder in order to get the .bat to work.

  33. Doom44 writes:

May you can at least answer about why we even need these bat files? xD

there are any chances that you will remove them in the batch?

I most people used to see series that are ordered from ep 01- till the last ep, sure some groups released episode as arcs before (though in Monogatari Season 2 I really don’t see the need for it…)

But to release BD series that had it TV’ version’s numbers mess up thanks to many releasers
and add to it arcs and on the to of it add to it bats files that let you choose if you want to mess the number even More… sound like a real brain killer for me, I know you can ignore my opinion but at least consider it :0

  34. Doom44 writes:

haaa my browser really love to mess up what I saying ;(

*I AND most people used to see series

    *groups released episodes

*and add to it arcs and on the TOP of it add to it bats files that let you choose if you want to mess the numbers

  35. John writes:

Sorry I didn’t reply. I don’t frequent this site on a daily basis. Quoting the ReadMe included in the download:
“If you wish to have the files renamed according to the order they appear in sequence, press “RenameSequentialOrder.bat”.
This will ignore the holes created by the recap episodes and just name the episodes 01-23.

If you wish to have the files renamed according to the week they aired, with holes for recaps, press “RenameBroadcastOrder.bat”.
This will rename the files with episodes 06, 11, and 16 missing, as these weeks were recaps that were not included in this torrent.”

I hope this answer your question about the recaps and the episodes order.

FUCK YEAH, best surprise in a while in the fansub world. So glad I’ll have a decent version of this!
You rock, thank you very much for all the effort! (and picking this up again!!)

It doesn’t have to be 110% perfect. As long as you do it, I’m sure it’ll be awesome and most likely way better than anything else (certainly the case in this one).

    Cheers

  37. Coal;Born writes:

    @Doom44
just read the Readme.txt you smartass

  38. Doom44 writes:

    Many thanks John

    Coal;Born I didn’t even downloaded the files yet….

->Didn’t know if it have all eps since they numbered it in arcs

->Not even noted that the bats come with readme file

I asked some questions that I thought coalgirl will answer me Before I plan to download it

You have my undying gratitude for picking this back up. <3

I'm not sure what your source is, but if it's the limited edition BDs, is there any chance you could add the music collections into the batch as well? Of course, don't push yourself, but if it's easy enough to do while you're working on it, I (and I'm sure others) would really appreciate it.

  40. dan writes:

    Hi again,

I noticed that you changed “iron-blooded hot-blooded cold-blooded vampire” to “vampire of blood and iron, zeal, and cold calculation”.

I don’t know japanese myself, but the “…-blooded vampire” form was used in all translations thus far (including the fan translated novels on baka-tsuki, as well as node’s version which is basically the official translation from daisuki slightly modified).
It could not be the most precise translation (again idk japanese), but phonetically it also sounds better.

If not for the phonetic context alone, would you consider keeping “…-blooded vampire” in the batch at least for consistency’s sake?

    Thanks!

    • coalgirl writes:

I preferred the Node translation for this line too, to be honest. It was changed only to match the typesetting on screen.

  41. Dhruv writes:

    Hi,

Could you please explain the arc breakup? Tried google but no luck, maybe not clicking on the appropriate search result.

  42. Coal;Born writes:

It’s all went from light novels.

Bakemonogatari(Hitagi Crab, Mayoi Snail, Suruga Monkey, Nadeko Snake, Tsubasa Cat)
    Nisemonogatari(Karen Bee, Tsukihi Phoenix)
    Nekomonogatari Kuro(Tsubasa Family)

    Monogatari Season 2:
    Nekomonogatari Shiro(Tsubasa Tiger)
    Kabukimonogatari(Mayoi Jiangshi)
    Otorimonogatari(Nadeko Medusa)
    Onimonogatari(Shinobu Time)
    Koimonogatari(Hitagi End)

    Monogatari Season 3:
    Hanamonogatari(Suruga Devil)

For those who ain’t downloaded it yet and who don’t understand a shit about arcs, and/or wanna watch whole Season 2 in the same sequence as it were on TV or BD, check out Readme which kindly provided by coalgirl.

    • coalgirl writes:

Actually, Hana came between Kabuki and Otori, hence why it’s title is Monogatari Second Season + alpha. Season 3 is Tsukimonogatari, Koyomimonogatari, 3 Owarimonogatari books, and Zoku-Owarimonogatari.

  43. Coal;Born writes:

Oh, my bad, just took a quick glance on wiki. Didn’t know about “+α” name.

  48. CDB-Man writes:

@coalgirl Any plans to include the 3 summary episodes in the batch? My guess is that it’s not going to happen because there’s no typesetting from Commie? 🙁

  49. Dhruv writes:

^BD’s don’t have those summary episodes so highly likely, no.
