I found the 1080p too large so I just got the 720p encode (instead of whining). `Nuff said. 😉

your encodes are terrible. 3gb an episode is just ridiculous

it would be good if you had your own group for your encodes. seeing a new post in the rss feed, getting exited, and then finding out its one of tenshi’s is annoying. coalgirl and cyras do good encodes with reasonable crfs, nobody needs crf13.

ITT: butthurt poorfags bitching about poorfags. Just post links to cdjapan, ignore poorfags who buy lolHDDs.

  7. banger writes:

i don’t mind the file size at all in terms of the amount of hard drive space it takes up. but having to torrent that size and then often a 2nd or 3rd time for the revised version kills my bandwidth! i hate bandwidth caps

  8. papsi writes:

And the “almost-one-DVD-per-episode ” episodes are officially BACK! 🙂

I love Tenshi and all his works.
Those who hate tenshi needn’t come here to post comments, OK??
There are cores of encoders done this anime, if you don’t like it just dl what you like
or you can just do it yourself !!
THERE are also 720p which are smaller. Tenshi had done too much for us.
Get out of here if you are full of nonsense and farts.
Tenshi really did well and we need to be grateful to Tenshi
Thank you Tenshi!! Love you Tenshi!!

you forgot to say “Tenshi” 😀

  11. IZEROII writes:

Dumbest comment goes to Noko on previous page…a difference of 2MB is comparable to a 2GB difference with respect to hdd space. …..really? Your logic is brilliant! One being an image and the other being a video is irrelevant. Especially since your 2MB difference is due to lossy jpeg vs lossless png and your 2GB difference is for the same resolution. Here is food for thought chief, a 2GB increase for a fraction quality gain that’s (maybe) noticeable only in stills isn’t worth it no matter how you spin it.

Important to note, the encoder can do what they wish. This is especially true when community feedback is rarely taken into consideration, which is evident given the long standing tradition of Tenshi bloat hate. Another guy is doing this and his 1080 is ~1GB and it is a dead on match from a quality stand point. Shooting the +2GB theory in the face again. So just browse around for reputable groups/encoders and hope they pick up a project you want. You know Tenshi will always do 1080 at crf 13 because that is what HE wants…just let it go. Spend your time hating on retarded logic like how having dozens of hdds is legit because they are cheap and efficiently using space is for…what was it…poorfags. Can’t help but laugh at that.

Is there any extra content in the blurays?

And who do I blame for the shitty encode?

  14. Anonymous writes:

I don’t mind large file sizes but CRF 13 on anime…? You could probably go CRF 18 on the 1080p and achieve transparency.

  17. DmonHiro writes:

Look, Tenshi has always encoded 1080p in CRF 13. I do not get why people are acting all surprized now. Get the 720p if you do not like it.

1080p DDL please, torrent is going really slow.

  19. dexter writes:

1080p for 3 and 4, torrent is 30 ~40Kbps, can someone upload it to a server? thanks

  22. Gawd writes:

To anyone that says 3gb is too much, that is absolute bullshit. Gosick has a weird gradient to it that will almost be completely removed if it’s too low. If you cannot stand Coalgirls release of 1080p, go ahead and download the BD, which happens to be 7gb each episode.

  23. Nettosama writes:

All 4 eps 1080p are up on that DDL link, with the patches applied.

  27. zeke writes:

thanks tenshi, this 1080p real quality… sure it big but QUALITY

  28. tehNiggaInTehCrib writes:

Man it’s for these reasons 10-bit be gettin’ popular. This show is all about fine dither, gradients, dark scenes.

If no other show, do this one in 10-bit. You’ll wind up with files 1/3 of the size or less at the same or better quality. Man…

  29. bob barker writes:

10bit is not a good option until its stable version is released. Plus the power to run those files will take more to do it.

  30. nand writes:

“A 3TB drive will have ~2794GB of free space.”

This is the most retarded thing I’ve read all day. 3 TB = 3000 GB. Complain to your hard drive manufacturer if you’re getting less than advertised, but don’t go invalidating other people’s calculations with your bullshit whining.

Also, poorfags gonna poor if you complain about something as small as 80 GB.

  31. Gaku writes:

And yet, that comma is quite true. You know, first thing is 1024 vs 1000, binary numeral system vs decimal. Dat old trick those HDD manufacturers use for advertising. Second one depends on your operating and file systems, as in the end it always takes few bits here and there for file/attributes description (and other thingies).

  32. nand writes:

    @Gaku
Then his operating system is displaying the filesize incorrectly. Windows does this, for example. 1 TB = 1000 GB, and 1 TiB = 1024 GiB. Different labels.

  33. Gaku writes:

Remember that Windows shows two values, one is file size and second (shown in properties) is actual amount of space it takes .

  34. nand writes:

    @Gaku:
That has little to do with this. The point I’m making is that Windows mislabels TiB as “TB”, incorrectly so.

So while Windows shows you have 2794 GB of accessible space, it’s actually wrong and you have 2794 GiB of accessible space, not GB – which equates to 3000 GB.

And file system overhead? Don’t make me laugh, that is ridiculously insignificant when you’re talking about files on the order of multiple gigabytes.

  35. tehNiggaInTehCrib writes:

I still think this should be 10-bit. 1/3 the size is meaningful when dealing with 3GB episodes. And gradients. And dark scenes.

Meaning 10-bit was made specifically for GOSICK. ‘Nuff said. 🙂

  36. Phantomcross writes:

    @ tehNiggaInTehCrib
Correct, I’m with you on that.
This series is just a bandwidth killer.

I would be a fool to download this for a mere 3GB per episode, which simply this whole series can done in half the file size in Hi10. <– Even better quality than the original encode.

  37. meta-retard writes:

Coalgirls – We will do what we want, and do not care about your opinion.

did you guys already forgot this?

  38. PeterNorth writes:

Was your Encoder on crack again while he/she was encoding this series? I mean 3 GB an episode, WTF people? Be reasonable, that’s all we want.

  39. AvidElite writes:

    @PeterNorth:

You must be new here. CoalGirls have said they encode at values they, themselves, like to watch, which is usually CRF13. Since we’re getting it for free, I don’t complain. I thank CoalGirls for all their hard work.

Also, the 720p files are available for a comparatively smaller 600-700 megabytes.

  40. Petrushka writes:

    >PeterNorth
    he was trolling.

we love CRF 13. we don’t care about ur archive size. the only thing that made me disappoint is Tenshi don’t make individual torrent for last vol, instead he release it in a batch >_>

and now i’m stuck with suuuuuuper slow torrent *glance at Broken Blade*

    • ♦Tenshi♦ writes:

Well, you can blame the leechers for that one. I have seeded nearly 3.8TB on those torrents alone.

  41. Petrushka writes:

i’m not surprise with that fact. the whole 5 episodes are 39,5 GB torrent.
i just hope that u will also release last vol before batch.

my internet is a dick and changing to another ISP is no option for me, yet i still love ur series.

    Please? 😀

  42. Petrushka writes:

i mean for the rest and future series, especially Infinite Stratos 😛

    just a small wish

  43. banger writes:

haha yeah it took me like 4 days just to dl ep 6 of break blade. the distro really is the only problem…but xdcc would just end up costing more money.

i love the encodes tho because they play more smoothly on my mediocre pc than normal because of the less compression. i don’t know what the point of saving every show forever is anyways….my 640gb drive has like 30-40 1080p series and thats enough for me

  44. ♦Tenshi♦ writes:

IS’s final episodes will be released in batch. This is so we can achieve a higher swarm of peers it leads to more bandwidth efficiency overall.

  45. Nettosama writes:

BTW, at least for the 1080p version, ep 7 is filenamed as ep 8, and viceversa obviously. Hope that gets fixed for the batch.

I really don’t understand why people get so pissed about file size. The reason the files are so huge is because there is actual data being stored, its not like they are just taking nothing and putting it into the file to make you rage. The reason the screen caps look the same (to most people anyways) is due to the limitation of your hardware, be it your computer monitor or your TV screen (or even your computers). Me, having a TV with reference colors, I can see the difference between a 800Mb file and a 2.5GB file. Its all about color depth and black levels, along with keeping a sharp looking picture. Every bit counts to achieve that goal. That is why BD encodes can be huge. If you don’t like it, tough. Like your opinion (or even my own) matters to these guys.

I would suggest reading a bit about what “High Definition” actual means before spouting your nonsense about file sizes. Theres a reason that blue-ray movies and shows come on a 50GB disc.

TL;DR: Files are huge for a reason. Get over it.

Are you stupid? No one said they’re “taking nothing and putting it into the file to make you rage”. People are saying that the difference in quality is negligible and very minimal to the majority of viewers. Most people won’t even notice the difference in such a minor increase in quality. 99% of viewers are not videophiles.
