Thanks for the BDMV link! since i can’t wait to see the quality i’m also downloading the BDMV, hopefully i can play it…

  5. fallton13 writes:

Finally a real copy of Toradora coming. Hopefully the subs for the last couple eps are fixed before release. The ones I have are horrible. I haven’t DL’d the DVD version from here, didn’t even notice, but the subbed version I have is identical to the DVD set I bought. Subs were great up til the last two eps where the J-E TL is so horribly literal and raw it’s a pain watching. So Thanks Coalgirl for picking up the BD ver. I’ll wait till they’re avail. Can’t wait to see this done right.

  6. Flyer99 writes:

Haa, I dont know if youve found all of the BDMVs but Nyaa has em’.(: Look for a user tokotoko.

  7. Nettosama writes:

@Flyer99: That’s a raw, an already encoded release, what a BD group encodes from is a BDMV as in untouched source.

  8. mtwini09 writes:

yeah, thus the lack of the word “BDMV” in those releases.

  9. Th3avatar writes:

And the second BD Box has appeared on shareraw! 😀

  10. ANIKI writes:

Nice, I look forward to the batch, Happy New years to everyone in the Coalgirls staff plus the peeps surfin the net d(-_^) JAANA~

  11. Th3avatar writes:

And the third one too, just in case you didn’t notice.

  12. Verix writes:

Patiently awaiting updates on this 🙂 looking forward to release

  13. anim3spy writes:

    Happy new year.
Can I ask which other box sets is planned?
Or is it a big secret?

  14. Anon writes:

    Eagerly anticipating BD releases.

Rewatched a few golden episodes and Toradora! just feels absolutely one of a kind.

Thanks for the work and happy new year!

  15. Julio writes:

Did the show get better after episode 10? I dropped it after the first ten episodes, but I might give it another shot if there was more Minori stuff.

  16. Verix writes:

@Julio it’s more of the same. If you didn’t like it up till there I doubt you’d like the rest. I personally found the build-up to the finale, the slice-of-lifeness the most fun.

  17. MK writes:

I’m having some problems playing these episodes on VLC. Works perfectly fine on Media Player Classic, but I prefer using VLC in general because loading MPC causes Windows 7 to revert to its Basic Theme. Would anyone have any suggestions for codecs that could fix the problem?

Thanks! And thank you, CoalGirls, for the torrent! 🙂

    Cool banner!

  19. IZEROII writes:

How is your acquisition of BDMVs coming along?

  20. Th3avatar writes:

    They’re out today 😀

  21. mascthemoney writes:

hooray, this series deserves the beedee treatment.

  22. Frog writes:

Yay, Im suprised it took them so long to choose to release BD’s. Considering how much goes straight to blu-ray within months.

  23. randomer writes:

Sry for all the fuss but i have some questions:
First, will this be in 10bit? I’ve read the faq but i’m not sure if this counts as a “new project”.
And second, will you recheck the subs before releasing?

  24. someguy writes:

    @randomer
yes, most likely will be 10 bit
only person in this group not doing 10bit is Tenshi

  25. VashTS writes:

For those who are interested, BDMV 1-4 are up on ADC already, 5-6 going up shortly.

  26. VashTS writes:

@MK You can make releases with separated OP/ED work in VLC, go to prefs>all>input>demux>matroska and turn off ordered chapters, but it’ll just play without any OP or ED.

  27. MagisterMage writes:

After lurking around my archives I found AniYoshi’s Toradora TV eps. AniYoshi did a good job on their scripts though they could/most likely need refining, you could give em a look and determine if they are worth exchanging.
    http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?oxxxdjw6w4cq345

Plus I guess they would be a bit more uniform than having scripts from 3 different groups

  28. A writes:

May I ask whether or not you’re using ordered chapters for this like the DVD release? I appreciate your older release and the fact that you’re doing this one but the ordered chapters really make for a messy presentation due to the way the ending theme segues from most of the episode content into the ending animation. I truly think this release would benefit greatly and have increased quality by not using ordered chapters.

    Thanks again.

    • coalgirl writes:

I am using OCs just like the DVD release. I was curious as it’s been a high complaint of “messy presentation” due to the segues, so I took a look. The segues are pretty much perfect. You’re just getting a placebo effect (possibly from incorrect usage of your player).

  29. mascthemoney writes:

@MagisterMage, you must be new to Coalgirls, otherwise you would know Coalgirls is as good as quality as it gets. Get that speedsub crap outta here. Thank you.

  30. coalgirl writes:

First, Aniyoshi certainly were not speedsubs. I actually am using the faster of the two subs. The reasons for my usage of gg/qq/Coalguys is because Aniyoshi’s editing was awkward and they were very literal. A de-trolled version of those subs (which is what I am using – see my DVD subs) is the best version.

  31. ThumperZ1 writes:

For those who bitch about the subs, why don’t you just fix them yourselves??? It’s not that hard.
‘Course, then you wouldn’t have anything to bitch about.

  32. MagisterMage writes:

Well I was not “bitching” about the subs, I was simply suggesting the use of the scripts and I only provided the link to AniYoshi’s scripts for in the case that Coalgirls wanted to take a look at them. An explanation of why the use of gg/qq/Coalguys scripts like that given by coalgirl is certainly better than quickly deeming my comment as “crap”.

  33. puma99dk| writes:

So will u use Coalguys subs for the OVA too?

  34. MK writes:

@VashTS Thank you!!! 🙂 I appreciate the tip

  35. skyhack writes:

    Thanks, Coalgirl.

    Epic waiting!… Hfff!…

  38. AnonWeibo writes:

So, are we getting a 720p only release or a full 1080p as well? Since the description only mentions 720p.

  39. Rufus writes:

What’s the point in 1080p? The blu-ray looks awful – I’m not even sure if it’s worth 720p but hopefully with some decent filtering it can be worth a 720p release which I hope coalgirls will do.

  40. Nettosama writes:

By policy CGi only does 720p releases of JC Staff, which is the studio for this show.

  41. abit writes:

@Rufus – For a Japanese upscale, it’s actually not terrible (it’s not some q-tec smear job).

@Nettosama – which is funny because JC Staff didn’t even do the upscale, but since it’s an upscale from SD source (and still not the greatest upscale), I understand why one would just encode at 720p.

  42. AnonWeibo writes:

Ah thanks guys! Completely forgot about the JC Staff rule. The comparisons looks crisp, and at least as good as a 720p TV Broadcast (but with less compression artifacts), my trusty pal MadVR will make anything look good 😉

  43. Kachu writes:

Endless thanks for this!! Coalgirls you really are the best!

  44. rain writes:

thanx for this one!! 🙂 by the way, will you include the TORADORA specials like the bento special?

  45. Zalis writes:

    @ MagisterMage:

Using subs from gg/qq/Coalguys is effectively only two groups, as gg’s and qq’s releases were done by the same translator.

  46. Th3avatar writes:

By the way, did you notice the 6th BDMV was interlaced? That kind of sucks…

  47. mascthemoney writes:

    @rain
It says 25+1 in the description. There is only one special.

  48. shibirian writes:

Wow, thank you very much for all the great work! 😀

Always a joy to watch Coalgirls releases. Keep it coming!! :3
