Yosuga no Sora

Type: Series (12 Episodes)
Video: 1920×1080 @ crf 13
1280×720   @ crf 16
Audio: FLAC 2.0 16Bit
Subs: UTW-Ryuumaru
1080p: Torrent
720p: Torrent

And here we have the final batch. Font attachment issues were found in episodes 5-9 they have been replaced. Since I was replacing a bunch of episodes, I spliced in the episode previews for eps 4,6,9. They are now inline with what was aired on TV. OSTs are in both torrents. If you have old files replace at your discretion, the font issues aren’t major. There are no problems with audio / video.

Here are the correct font attachments. If you have old files and don’t wish to re-download one can just remove the current fonts in the old files and mux in these ones. Due to splicing in of previews on some episodes there will be no patches.

Thank you! I was hoping you would pick this up.

  2. tormaid writes:

Also, lol at wanting more bitrate. I’m glad someone here still encodes regardless of filesize.

  3. 1337 writes:

    gonna wait for 1080p n thanks =]

  4. wanted45 writes:

    Yes thanks a lot!

  5. Arc writes:

Can you ddl this at some point for your torrently-challenged fans?

  6. ChrisK writes:

Yes, DDLs are now coming for Tenshi’s projects as well (every time a series is started or finished), but only for 720p.

  7. Desert_Fox writes:

    I only care for 1080p 😉

    and thanks Tenshi 😀

  8. Name-kun writes:

    Post some screenie plz :3

  9. Sun writes:

Tenshi, I’m so desp. I can’t get myself to try any more way, so I’m going head-on as my last resort.
Could you upload this anime’s OST, please?
I’ve been biting my nails off for weeks, looking for this god damn ost, but everyone having its first BD seems to be so careless about it.
It’s been out for one frigging WEEK already, come on!
Now, I’ve heard you don’t usually release OST’s, this is why I’m asking you directly.
Could you make one bit of an exception and upload it somewhere already?
Keep it private if you find it best, but please, I’m begging you, begging like a noob, for once.
    Thanks. >.>

    Always more bitrate! 😀

  11. suiton writes:

i’ll wait for the 1080p release

  12. Ingrid00 writes:

Yeah, give more bitrate for 1080p. The bit rate for 720p is clearly enough for me. I was afraid when UTW decided not going release this in BD. I’d only watched 1st episode in broadcast version & it was terrible in the graphic, then I decided to watch this show on BD ver.

  13. Twinkle writes:

    CRF16 is enough.

  14. Rensie writes:

Thanks a lot of guys for the hard work. <3

  15. ♦Tenshi♦ writes:

I suppose I can release the soundtrack with the 1080.

  16. IZEROII writes:

Soundtrack yes!!! I will undoubtedly grab that as the score was beautiful. I only have the OP ED and Insert tracks. But ya let’s see where those 1080 file sizes lay lol. I liked this show but there wasn’t a whole lot going on to dictate anything >1GB. But we shall see what you release.

  17. kantori writes:

I’m with Ingrid00 with the concern UTW decided not to do the BD version.
As long as it’s not some ridiculous file size like 2+ gigs an episode as with the CGi’s current Angel Beats release, ick.

  18. Ruiko writes:

Number less than 18 is already a waste of bitrate on the X264 encoder.
I encode everything at CRF 18 and my encodes looks awesome on my LED TV.
Yosuga no Sora is most of the time just conversations static frames with very low movement this type of animation use very low amount of bitrate.
The files you produced at CRF 16 is fine dont make it bigger because it will be a fucking waste of your time.

  19. Bloodios writes:

    Awesome, I deeply appreciate this.

  20. ar writes:

    Ruiko,

CRF 18 for a Blu-ray is generally too little, 16-17 is a more sensible range. It’s not about static frames, it’s about retaining grain in the source to prevent banding which I can guarantee this show will have if you don’t give it enough bitrate. I helped work on YnS for UTW and I can tell you outright the animation is like a banding magnet. Leave it upto the encoders best judgment not your own.

  21. CTS writes:

Gonna wait for 1080p. Thanx for picking this up. Also, any chance you will encode Hyakka Ryouran Samurai Girls, B Gata H Kei or The World God Only Knows? Just asking.

  22. daikama writes:

@ Tenshi – thanks as always.

Re: 1080p encode settings. Video is loss…period, and encoding with CRF over 17 is counterproductive – especially for 1080p. CRF 14 or maybe 15 is usually the sweet spot for a quality 1080p rip. CRF 13 might be a little more than needed, but better a little extra bitrate than not enough. I forget which post it was mentioned, but Tenshi already uploaded comparison shots of different CRF settings, and you can see that quality begins to noticeably degrade around CRF 16.

  23. baka writes:

there is no diff from what aired b4 and this BD right ?
other than video quality ofc xD

im downloading this for the sake of the quality but just wanted to know if there is any diff xD

    thx

  24. Dani1995 writes:

Just aim for the best quality, better so 🙂

  25. waleedtg writes:

i have the same question as baka

if possible can u do a comparison from the tv version plz

  26. Luka writes:

I dont care about the file size because hard disks for backup is fucking cheap, the quality of the BD-Rip is the most important.
Please give me the best quality you can make.
Thanks for the Yosuga no Sora BD.

  27. LuisXVII writes:

File sizes dont matter, just focus on getting the best quality you can out of this BD-Rip
btw, waiting on the 1080p release!
Thanks for doing this series 🙂

been waiting for your 1080p release!!

:: will seed for a little bit at least ::

  32. IZEROII writes:

OMG thank you for the soundtrack. Ehhh the 1080p file sizes lol but I suppose I will grab them to take a look see for comparative purposes and all that jazz. Thanks.

  33. Zanz writes:

    @Zero

When you get a copy please post a screen shot comparison between what i assume is Kira’s. I would like to know if is worth it too.. You know, not like i watch YnS for the plot or anything.

  34. Anonymous writes:

    Beautiful. Thankyou!

  35. Damian writes:

Are there gonna be DLL for the 1080p?

    ChrisK: No.

  36. Damian writes:

too bad, torrent is slow 8-20 kBp/s

  37. Alfredonm writes:

Hey can someone upload the chapters to fileserve as the 720p? thanks, torrent is ridiculously slow. 3 -40 kBp/s

  38. IZEROII writes:

I apologize that it is not exactly the same frame for a few…guess I missed that bc I’m in a rush this morning. Sorry.

  39. IZEROII writes:

And triple post! Told you I’m in rush…not thinking straight. But I can’t tell that much of a difference between the two if any.

  40. ano writes:

idk about those screens.. but wtf. cropped? background is all bigger?

    zooms? anyways. confused.

  41. ano writes:

wtf, nvm. they are on the bike… ofc the background is gonna move.

  42. IZEROII writes:

There is little to no difference between the two imo. So i’ll just go with crf 16 over this 13.

  43. Gigi1017 writes:

I am going to sound like a total noob, but I am assuming that the ripper of the Soundtrack is coalgirls, no? *please don’t bite me <-<*
Yes, I ripped the soundtrack myself.

  44. Gigi1017 writes:

    Thank You :3

  45. alfred writes:

    thanks S.J.

  46. ar writes:

    @IZEROII

The only real difference I can see if that Tenshi’s encode keeps the fine bd grain better. Neither is cropped from what I can tell. And what’s with the different frames :> lol You musta been half asleep! On playback both will probably look almost identical, though if you want to compare properly you need to compare two scenes where banding is slightly visible (during playback) and see how they came to each other.

  47. herp writes:

you better compare with tp7 encode. unlike tenshi and kira this guy knows what he’s doing.

  48. Zanz writes:

Yeah, shfiting subs to Yousei-raws and remuxing means you know what you’re doing. Troll harder son.
