    You don’t really know what your talking about. THORA has been pretty active recently. They completed Ladies Vs Butler, about to finish Casshern Sins. And also released episodes of K-ON!! and Bakemonogatari.

    To be honest you sound pretty ungrateful considering adenozin is encoding for free and choosing to share them. If you want the other projects just buy the Blu-Rays yourself.

    P.S. Your comparison with Blizzard is a joke.

    size does not matter ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES TO QUALITY…
    THORA DIES ON MY HDI DUNE.. which is like wdf..
    So i rely on both coalgirls and another source.
    Heck, sometimes i download both 720p and 1080p for comparison xD!

  3. loler writes:

    That is such a stupid thing to say. if size doesn’t matter, WHY THE HELL DO A 720p VERSION!??!?!
    If you want best quality ignore the 720p and ALWAYS go for the 1080p mmkay?
    The 720p EXISTS for those THAT CARE about size, so please, stop saying dumb things that only a 4 years old kid can say.

  4. Nats writes:

    Thanks for re-encoding the 1080p. Really appreciate it.

  5. jusef writes:

    Nice caps you two.
    I watched BD raws in 1080p, and it looks upscaled (by studio I mean). I see the point of making 720p and 1080p encodes, but for those who care about quality AND video size, 720p is optimal decision.

  6. coalgirls writes:

    I’m surprise you see the point in making 1080p for this series, because I don’t. Well, outside of people just want it.

  7. Tiago writes:

    Could you make a comparision between 720p and 1080p when possible please?
    That way people will look to the pictures and see if the 1080p version is worth downloading 😉

  8. chika writes:

    @loler

    People use 720p version because their computer don’t read 1080p version. There are people that have problems with the 720p version too. Not all have the money to buy the newest computer. There are people that have to use old computer. So if you do only 1080p version they can’t watch BD release only because some guys say the 720p version are useless for quality.

    If you can see both of them then I agree that you have to download 1080p if you want quality over size. Anyway today you can buy external HD with TB of free space for few money so the size problem doesn’t really exist.

  9. loler writes:

    @chika
    Not really sure what you’re saying. I never ever ever said anywhere that there should only be a 1080p release. ever. read carefully please, what I said was that when making 720p releases the encoder SHOULD care about size, cause most people that watch 720p take that instead of the 1080p cause of size (there are exceptions ofc, like those that can’t play 1080p but those are fewer). So all I want is 720p versions that are not bloated, that have a good ratio between size and looks, if someone doesn’t care about size they should go for the 1080p, if they do but they still want HD 720p is the perfect solution assuming it doesn’t weight too much.
    Oh, and buying harddrives isn’t really the solution, I’m not filthy rich, already bought some HDD’s but I can’t spend money on a new one every week, if I could I would just buy the BD’s.

    Can I ask why we’re going on about filesize in here? This is one of my encodes. The 720p is about 8 GB for 16 episodes, and the 1080p is twice that size. Is that not reasonable?

  11. 1337 writes:

    it is reasonable. Thanks for your hard work!~ cant wait

  12. B0ng0 writes:

    ‘sall good. Do your thang.

  13. loler writes:

    @coalgirls 8GB is totally reasonable, but I was speaking in general about the fact 720p should be reasonable in size, and am glad to see this is the case here as well, thanks for the hard work 🙂

  14. tormaid writes:

    @coalgirls
    I think the file size is very reasonable, especially considering the amount of grain visible in the screens. Good work! Hopefully I finish the first season by the time this is done downloading, lol.

  15. 1337 writes:

    zomg Yay~ now waiting for 1080 =]

  16. MikeP writes:

    I assume your original opinion stands. That this isn’t worth the 1080p?

  17. zero writes:

    ya seriously why are we complaining about filesize???? This is a coalgirls release….not a ginormous crf 13 by tenshi

  18. HaH writes:

    Are you going to add screenshots for each project from now on?

    Who knows. Not really sure what possessed me to add screenshots here. Just know that if I do, the screenshots will all be 720p.

  19. Bloodios writes:

    Oh…no ordered chapters this time around?

    No NCOP/NCED available on BD = No ordered chapters, guaranteed.

  20. BK201 writes:

    Thora compared to Blizzard sounds pretty dead on.

  21. OniSamurai writes:

    @loler:
    “tl;dr – no. 720p shouldn’t be bloated, 1080p can be.”
    You say it like it’s a fact when it’s actually an opinion. I don’t think anybody really gives a crap that you think 720p shouldn’t be bloated.
    Also, you’re the one who’s complaining about the size, I suggest you go and buy the BD’s yourself since you’re soconcerned about “raping your HDD”. I’ve been perfectly content with CGi’s releases thus far. I’m not the one with the problem.

  22. BK201 writes:

    I agree. Get an external HDD or a HDD dock + 2TB drive. Memory storage is cheap these days.

  23. loler writes:

    @OniSamurai

    Tell me, why the heck would you need a bloated 720p version when you can just get the 1080p version? how the HELL does that make any sense? most people now a days can run both 720 and 1080 assuming they’re not retards, so why do people still do 720p releases? I’ll tell you why, cause some people care about size.
    I suggest you go and find a girlfriend, or else take it up the ass.

  24. thief_ac writes:

    Thank you guys for your hard work!

  25. Craggy writes:

    Have been waiting for BSS too long.
    Thank you for this.

  26. OniSamurai writes:

    @loler: “Most” people can run 720p, you said it right. So 720p is for those who can’t run full 1080p. Why don’t you just get DVD rips if you’re so concerned about the size? Or again just buy it yourself and stop whining like a little kid. You tell me to get a girlfriend because I disagree with you? Let me tell ya little guy, you’re awfully defensive and have some anger issues or something. Take a chill pill buddy it’s just Anime, it’s not the end of the world.

  27. OniSamurai writes:

    @loler: Also, if I’m not mistaken you were the one who suggested CGi do HOTD BD’s. Why not just download the TVRips from gg or something? Good quality and everything. Or is it you need to see the uncensored animated boobies? Naw, I couldn’t possibly imagine that the guy suggesting other people to get girlfriends would be so shallow as to want a BD of HOTD just for the nudity. Impossible, it must be because it’s one of those shows that needs quality to truly be enjoyed. Yeah that’s it…

  28. baka writes:

    hmmm… any significant difference between the 1080p and 720p in terms of quality? 1080p’s not an upscale, right?

  29. OniSamurai writes:

    @baka: From what I’ve read 1080p is an upscale. So I don’t think there will be much of a difference, but I might be wrong.

  30. Lemon writes:

    Thank you. I can finally watch this!

  31. loler writes:

    @OniSamurai

    you’re kidding yourself if you think I’m going to read your walls of texts, I’m tired of your stupidity. I’ll keep asking for reasonable 720p releases, cause that’s how I see fit? okay? now get a life, honestly, I’ve decided I have better things to do than explain myself to a 12 years old illiterate.

  32. OniSamurai writes:

    @loler: I wouldn’t expect any less of a response from you.
    @coalgirls: Keep up the good work.

  33. banger writes:

    is 1080p ep 12 messed up? the audio and video and subtitles are all out of sync for me. my pc usually runs 1080p files fine and i skimmed through a few other episodes from the batch and the others all worked fine.

  34. anon writes:

    Onisamurai:”From what I’ve read 1080p is an upscale. So I don’t think there will be much of a difference, but I might be wrong.” .You know thats one of the most fucking annoying things about idiots that encode & download anime say[second only to dubs suck every five minutes],every blurays whined about as an upscale.Dont moan or do a better job yourself.

  35. Raiz writes:

    Twice you have fucked up the encode http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=9kxbly&s=7 ,not only that but the opening subs are not timed right and episode 12 is not timed .

  36. baka writes:

    @Raiz
    Which episode did you took the screenshot from? and what timeframe?

  37. Raiz writes:

    Episode one ,don’t know the time frame.Plus the opening subs overlap http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2lnbqkp&s=7 when switching to the next sentence on every episode .And like me & banger said ep 12s not timed .Guess i wasted 2 days worth of downloading and will have to wait for another encode.

  38. coalgirls writes:

    Um, you are obviously using a poor set up if the subs are overlapping like that on the OP. That doesn’t even look like the font I used. And even if there is a problem in 1080p, that was released at your own risk. So serves you right for downloading an upscale.

    For episode 12, pretty much, I forgot to set the frame rate to 24000/1001, so it went to 25. That will be fixed. The other stuff you mentioned looks like a player issue, not an encode error.

    Dialogue: 0,0:10:25.53,0:10:31.13,DTB-Default,,0000,0000,0000,,That the stars in this sky are the lives of the contractors.

    Checked each frame in the 1080p and 720p version. The frame you displayed did not show up, it was all cystal clear – no corruption. Go download CCCP + MPC-HC.

  40. OniSamurai writes:

    @anon: I’m not complaining, someone asked if it was an upscale so my response was that I heard it was. Supposedly the 1080p is an upscale so you won’t see the difference from 720p if it is. Secondly you might want to get a firmer grasp on the English language before you decide to engage in the conversation.

  41. Raiz writes:

    Funny how some people just don’t get it. Banned.

  42. tatsujin writes:

    uh… who cares? im getting the 1080p just because. ;p

  43. banger writes:

    does 720p get better quality control for all of your encodes, or just in this show since you said it was an upscale? just curious because maybe i will start downloading 720p in the first place for all shows. the evangelion movie was the same way i think…1080p was broken while 720p was not.

    not criticizing, just wondering since after the initial few days its hard to get anything by torrent so i want to download the best version first.

    720p is what I do all the script checking on. The 1080p is simply encoded, muxed, and released. So yes, it does get better QC.

  44. Code537 writes:

    First, I’m a huge fan, thank you for your hard work. I have to agree, that Ep 12 1080p is out of sync for me too. I play all your other 1080p files okay – I have a i7 x980 CPU. Please check and confirm this?

  45. [TR] writes:

    What Raiz was (ever so nicely) complaining about seems to be some trouble when decoding with CoreAVC, with or without CUDA. At least for me.
    But it looks like it only happens when jumping forward or backward. If the file plays from start to finish, all’s good.
    I have the 720p version, BTW. Maybe the 1080p is different.

  46. banger writes:

    ahh so that weird stuff on the screen is from coreavc? i get that too when skipping back and forth…from other groups releases too. was always curious.

  47. senarious writes:

    There is a strange thing about episode 12…
    I don’t know why but video is way too ahead of sound. Outher episodes seems fine though… A codec problem may be?

  48. 1337 writes:

    it seems everyone with 1080p-ep12 has that problem for that ep
