    How many parts are there?

According to AniDB, there are 6 parts in total.

    manga is better
well judging from what can be seen from the fights so far
either way, great series, good animation

CRF 13, really? From 2 feet away your eyes won’t even be able top tell the difference between this and a CRF 16-18 encode.

  6. ano writes:

    Err…sry but what’s CRF?

Just out of curiosity, why are Coalgirls doing this project? I ask as you are using gg’s subs and gg is doing the blu-ray. It seems like a pointless task to take on, when some else is doing “the” exact same thing.

Not that I’m complaining as gg tends to do troll shit through a lot of their work. Just truly curious.

When I went to go watch this, no copies had flac audio. Lack of flac audio makes Tenshi sad.

  8. jabs writes:

the audio/vid quality is prolly better than gg’s

  9. martinez writes:

seriously…i was shocked with the file size…

    but the FLAC…..it’s really worth…

    ;_;

  10. NemesiS writes:

i dont know what you are all talking about.
used CRF 13 in comparison to file size wchich is not very big is great.
eureka 7 movies was thrice as big as this is.

    thanks tenshi 🙂
what sources will you use for other parts?
as gg probably wont do the rest.

  11. jabs writes:

who cares about the size….just delete it after u watch it

  12. jake writes:

I’m thankful for Coalgirls’ releases, but I personally prefer DD/DTS, because SPDIF and many GPU’s with HDMI only support 2 channel uncompressed audio and DD/DTS.

Believe me I would love to just mux in the Dolby True HD or DTS Master Audio tracks without converting to flac. However decoding said streams is still a pain to get working, and most people wouldn’t know how to set it up right. Right now FLAC is the best middle ground you don’t lose quality and you can stream it out to a receiver with any decent sound card supporting something like Dolby Digital Live.

If they would’ve left out some of the ridiculous establishing shoots(and not to forget, those strange “I touch this quartz gem now!! Look how it’s shining!!! x3” scenes) they wouldn’t had to cut some of the dialog.. and What’s wrong with the bike of the general it looks extremly slow like in slow motion or something xD

Sound: Quality = awesome, fails a bit at epicness but else it’s definitely fitting
Visuals: Polished, dirty(which is part of the Manga), but the background looks wayyyy too much out of place..

The filesize seems ok to me in comparison to the quality 🙂

  15. AnimeReference writes:

maybe you should add that there will be more movies to your description up top

as is it sounds like a oneshot

It’s just that audio volume is so low, I tried to add AC3 track from the other group’s release.
1080p releases size gone down from 6.4g to 5.4g
I’m just guessing that audio track is not compressed?

  20. banger writes:

yeah why is flac audio volume always so much lower? i had that problem on gundam unicorn.

  21. DM writes:

anyone know who is subbing part 2? the raw is out

  22. makagane writes:

gg has just subbed the second movie. Will you be doing it?

  23. ♦Tenshi♦ writes:

    Yes,

We will be doing part II. But as per usual with these large files limited by net speeds.

  24. makagane writes:

    Thank you for the 720p.

  25. Suzuku writes:

Aren’t you guys supposed to be having a war with gg or something? (´_ゝ`)

  26. Chubee writes:

@Suzuku: lol seriously, why do u care? Want to enroll?

Thanks Tenshi for another awesome release! Can’t wait to see it in 1080p! Your version kicked ass!

Oh damn. The Derivative Break Blade virus is spreading; if any of you are feeling the following symptoms, please go find the nearest person you can and kill them in order to be sent to jail in order to recuperate: THINKING THIS SHOW IS ORIGINAL, actually liking this show for something more than a good laugh at how unoriginal the plot is, thinking that explosions = win (and make sure you don’t have the pre-existing condition of Michael Bay Syndrome), and flaming gg subs’ page on why the hell they haven’t subbed their Break Blade releases yet.

Thank you for understanding and/or cooperating. With this we may take out the issues of the Break Blade Virus AND population control. Any shankings as a result of going to jail are not our responsibility.

  29. ChrisK writes:

Muxing in the DTS-HD MA-Track + FLAC wouldn’t make much sense, since people who can playback the full DTS-HD MA-Track should be able to play a FLAC5.1-track as well.
It would make more sense to include just the DTS-core, for people without a HDMI-connection to their Souround-Receiver, so that they don’t have to do an “on-thy-fly”-AC3-conversion.

  30. Chubee writes:

Concerning the audio: I think Tenshi, you should not include both FLAC and DTS-HD. I don’t mind either of them since they are lossless. But, there is really no point in muxing both to make the file size bigger then it already is. It would take too much time to get it download in the end. So, in conclusion, my vote is NO.

  31. ♦Tenshi♦ writes:

Reason for the DTS-HD MA is basically for those people that can support HDMI 1.3 and can bit-stream the audio for decoding on their AV DACs. Currently I don’t know of any receivers that can decode flac.

  32. Magic Turtle writes:

The simple question to ask about the DTS-HD is, how big is the file? Though even if its small, I really don’t see any point. So I say no.

If you are nice you could just load the streams on DDL and picky people can remux the files themselves.

  33. ChrisK writes:

DTS-HD MA is about 1.3 times the size of an FLAC-Track.
    > can bit-stream the audio for decoding on their AV DACs
Well, it shouldn’t matter where the audio is decoded (assuming all decoders work correctly).

  34. Wazza writes:

dtshd is just a waste of time and file space.

  35. ♦Tenshi♦ writes:

    >Well, it shouldn’t matter where the audio is decoded (assuming all decoders work correctly).
    .
If that were the case I wouldn’t be bringing this up. It DOES matter where audio is decoded. I was recently away from my main machine, and the comp I got stuck using only had onboard audio. Stuff sounded TERRIBLE. Now as flac has to be decoded at the computer and most people tend to use onboard audio………

  36. ChrisK writes:

Well, I said where it is *decoded* and not where it is converted to analog-audio. People who (have to) use onboard-audio will use it with DTS-HD MA as well. If you can output Bitstream DTS-HD MA, you can output decoded FLAC 5.1 as PCM 5.1 too and the DA-conversion will always take place in the receiver.
So including DTS makes only *some* sense in case of backwards-compatibility .

  37. philip writes:

whats better? lol =.= I like asking dumb questions :]…

  38. ♦Tenshi♦ writes:

    >*decoded*
    .
My bad, i am too used to decoding and converting at the same location, I tend to lump them in as the same thing.
    ,
Hmm never considered the PCM 5.1 route. My experience with HDMI audio is a bit limited though, my receiver is old and doesn’t support the newer stuff. Guess will leave it as is.

  39. ChrisK writes:

Many cheaper receivers (like mine) don’t support the lossless audio-formats (DTS-HD MA, TrueHD) via HDMI, so for those there is just the PCM-route anyway.

  40. Seraphim writes:

TY for such a great show and quality!

  41. Paul writes:

Did you edit the subtitles at all? Or is it just a new encode?

  42. ♦Tenshi♦ writes:

No I didn’t edit any of the subtitles. Just muxed them into my encode.

  43. Desert_Fox writes:

    so ETA until ur release?

i don’t care as long as u still include FLAC for the audio…

maybe in the future….when i finally get HD Home Theater or powerful desktop….i will fully enjoy it…

now it’s time to play it in my notebook and burn it after that :p
    .
Part3? That’s end of year probably. Part2 is already out

  44. Desert_Fox writes:

    ouhhh i forgot it…..

i forgot that this is movie….XD

so 01 & 02 each disk only contai 1 episode XD

  45. scandilizer writes:

Anyone have any DDL links to share for ep2 720p version? That would be awesome.

  46. Zeniv writes:

Anyone knows when the next episode will be out? The official site said its going to be screened in cinemas starting from 25/9 to 6/11 depending on locations in Japan but they didn’t mention anything about DVD/Blu Ray of episode 3. Did I miss something or the discs are gona come after they finish screening in Japan? Its most likely to be the latter but that means its going to come after November 6 and thats really a long wait.

  47. Desert_Fox writes:

from what i heard…..the Blu-Ray disc will come out 1 month after screen in cinema 😀

  48. Zeniv writes:

Oh man. Thats after the first screen of the OVA at Hokkaido or last one at Fukushima. I know this sounds pretty stupid but i did just like to know. xD and i thought they could probably come after half a month.
