@yuriks
Honestly, K-Lite has solved pretty much every problem I’ve had with CCCP in the past, so I’m not going to switch back exclusively for CoalGirls’ releases.
@MikeP
Yeah, that’s something along the lines of what I was thinking. I have no idea how to adjust it in MPC, or if it’s even an option. =\ I haven’t noticed anyone else pointing out similar issues, though, so unless I’m the only person without a surround sound system, I imagine there must be some solution to it… I guess I’ll look around some more, in the meantime.
Thanks for this epic blu-ray anime. This is my first time watching Clannad!
I used to have a lot of problems with cccp (FLAC), but all problems were gone when I switched to K-Lite Mega. I am glad I can enjoy this awesomeness without any problems!
@de.monkeyz
Yeah, I’ve tried some normalization options, among others. All the normalization seems to be doing is making everything louder equally. :S
Checking the first episode again, I’ve noticed that voices meant to be “further” actually sound louder and clearer than the normal voices. Also, the normal voices sound like they’re just reverb/echo. I definitely get the feeling it’s got something to do with the surround sound settings, but I’ve just never had to adjust the audio to work on stereo settings before, so I’m clueless as to how to do so.
I was using an old version of MPC before, now I’ve looked at the settings for the newer version. There doesn’t seem to be an internal FLAC decoder. Which is odd
I was using 1.3.17xx something, which didn’t have it. Then I just tried the latest release from MPC’s website itself, which was 1.3.12xx which had it. So I enabled it, turned off the internal audio switcher, which made no different (still had FFDShow processing flac audio). Then tried to disable FFDShow’s FLAC codec, which made it output to Prologic II, which isn’t true surround.
Just to confirm, was it ffdshow audio *decoder* or ffdshow audio *processor*? It should be processor. If that’s correct then maybe you need to manually configure it to output AC3 because I think they don’t share the same settings.
It may just be that your receiver is lying to you, though, or is at least being misleading. On the ffdshow info pane check if the output mode looks correct.
Definitely Audio Processor. And if I don’t disable Flac in FFDShow, the info will show I’m processing Flac sound still. And if I disable it, ffdshow won’t process it at all, which is when I get the ProLogic II.
Not sure myself. I tried downloading and installing the latest FFDShow directly, but to no avail. I suppose skipping a little isn’t that bad, especially since I have a media remote, so it’s pretty easy to do
Loving the quality of these rips! Please keep it up!
The FLAC audio sounds spectacular!
For those having issues…. just stream it to your PS3 with PS3 Media Server. You can transfer the audio as Direct PCM if you have the right set up and enjoy it as near-perfect Blu-Ray Quality.
@asgiov
That’s not really a valid alternative, unless someone doesn’t have a digital out set-up on their PC (and I would recommend using headphone spacial virtualization with a decent headset if that’s the case). Since ps3 media server loses quality on the video, and doesn’t support ordered chapters either.

These are my default settings for the Audio Switcher in MPC and the Mixer in FFDShow’s audio settings.
I have tried turning various things on and off, such as Normalize, the number of speakers, speaker volume, and whatever else looked like it should help, but to no avail.
“Note – I’ve lost a lot of motivation due to the nitpickers so I’m going to just run a few losslesses over the next few days. This means no releases for a few days and then a lot at once.”
Ignore them! Do what you want and what you think is best. I trust you!
Wow….stop complaining, if Coalgirls and Others wasn’t here you would be watching it on You Tube right now, and you complain about 1 pixel crop and other minor stuff…. Buy the Disk or Stfu, stop acting like parasites, you got it for free so be happy instead of always having sommething to complain about.
@de.monkeyz:
Yeah, that’s the one I used. I’m starting to get the feeling I’m just out of luck. =\ May have to just wait for Doki to catch up/finish, if that’s the case.

Wow, this guy totally said what I was going to say a few days ago (hence my name being the same as his/hers).
Really though, I laughed when I saw some of you guys saying stuff like, “OMG, it’s OVERCROPPED” or, “OMG, THERE’S THIS 1 FUCKING SECOND LAG BEFORE THE ED. PLZ FIX OR I COMMIT SEPPUKU KTHXBAI”
Minor. Fucking. Shit.
I just watched all of the 9 episodes using a nice, big 1080P TV that’s just a few steps away from me. Funnily enough, I didn’t even notice the crap you guys blurted out. What I did notice was this: the watching experience was A LOT BETTER than my previous experience with this anime (DVD vs. BD? lawlz, who’ll win?)
P.S. For all you nitpickers: go ahead and buy the Blu-Rays if you guys want the best intended quality. Or if you’re that stingy, maybe offer your i7 rig that you saved up for (we’d be broke as fuck if we bought some of DAT ANIMU) so that the “quality” that YOU want can PROBABLY be achieved.
Looks like a great release but I was wondering if you are doing the english audio when it is released? That is the only thing that is keeping me from downloading it now. I only have limited bandwith so I would not like to download it again. Even if the english audio is horrible I would rather have it for a more ‘complete’ version of the series.
AHHH My harddrive’s about to explode. Is this extreme bitrate really necessary? Thinking about getting the 720p version instead of 1080p. I don’t own a 42″ TV anyway.
Coalgirls please tell me whats happening with anon-chans projects .They havent been updated for a long time , does it mean they are being dropped or not as stuff like sacred blacksmith with only 2 episodes left could be added to your finished projects by now
I just want to say thank you.

@Chalryn
You could try the volume normalization option in FFDShow Audio decoder. I just enabled it for my headphone settings, and it seems to boost the levels a bit: http://screenshots.deathmonkeyz.com/2010-05-25_2045.png

What setting do you have on the mixer? Do you have it set to 2 speakers?
de.monkeyz: Probably try going to Options, Internal Filters -> Audio Switched and disabling the internal audio switcher.
@yuriks

Which version are you using and where did you get it from? Mine’s 1.3.1871.0, from the last CCCP beta and I have it.

Then I’m beat. =/ Are you using any codec pack? Maybe it has to do with the version of ffdshow you have, I don’t know.
Not sure myself. I tried downloading and installing the latest FFDShow directly, but to no avail. I suppose skipping a little isn’t that bad, especially since I have a media remote, so it’s pretty easy to do

You don’t use the “normalize matrix” option. You use the option within the “Volume” option in FFDShow (12 settings up from mixer)

You know that the video and audio quality is actually one of the least important things for Clannad?
Engadget published an article just recently about overscanning and how all tv’s do it. Kind of interesting… I had no idea.
http://hd.engadget.com/2010/05/27/hd-101-overscan-and-why-all-tvs-do-it/
aha lost your motivation cause of nitpickers. Classic 😛
And you know how that makes me feel?
_|¯|O
kanbenshite yo coalgirls T_T
where is 10 and so on?!?!
NEED MOAR BAAWwWW
hahahaa…. server you right coalgay.
thora is eps 17. lol
@ichi-nii
1/10, but thanks for trying
can we expect DDL of 10th episode in both 720p and 1080p resolutions?
i think most of the people had downloaded through DDL till 9 episode and dont need whole pack.
thx 🙂
you do not have to download the whole torrent. you can just select episode 10 if that is all you want….
what Scarf said
Episode 7 & 8 are version 2 and haven’t been uploaded on megaupload yet, so you’ll have download those, too.
Looks like a great release but I was wondering if you are doing the english audio when it is released? That is the only thing that is keeping me from downloading it now. @Blazing Badger
Don’t wait for that…I’m almost sure Coalgirls won’t release this with another audio rather than Japanese.
Well, it was worth hoping for. I’ll just have to rip and mux it in myself (once I figure out how…).
“hahahaa…. server you right coalgay.
thora is eps 17. lol”
Yeah but Thora’s quality is far behind on Coalgirls’ quality.
coalgirls is god <3 so back off:).
Downloading and seeding.
Thank you Coalgirls!
AHHH My harddrive’s about to explode. Is this extreme bitrate really necessary? Thinking about getting the 720p version instead of 1080p. I don’t own a 42″ TV anyway.
Just asking – is the Blu-Ray rendered in 1080p or 720p?
you posted 1080p 11-15 torrent twice, instead of once 1080p and once 720p
I also don’t have a 42″ Full HD TV, yet 😛
Gonna order it soon though 🙂
And then a new PC and I’m all set for a Clannad Marathon.
And to the coalgirls:

Anyone know where I can get direct download links for the 720p episodes 10 to 15?
Link for 720p version of 11-15:

Coalgirls please tell me whats happening with anon-chans projects .They havent been updated for a long time , does it mean they are being dropped or not as stuff like sacred blacksmith with only 2 episodes left could be added to your finished projects by now
I am behind a proxy and I can’t download torrent. Will there be direct download links for the 1080p episodes 10 to 15?
Just turn ur proxy off…
Nice no Seeder anymore at the 11-15ep 1080p torrent.. WTF? I’m stuck at 66.9% for 4 hours and I almost seeded double the size of the actual content..
Yeah I’m stuck too. Is it because there are no seeders? Man, I redownloaded the torrent 4 times and got stuck at 67% each time! 🙁
