i think afk subs are much better than chihiro…

i cant wait for the release of the haruhi BD’s…^^

  2. herp writes:

hey, but now you can watch endless eight in a full 1080p glory.
oh well, at least there’s an excellent dvd-rip for the first season.

  3. me (seriously) writes:

I do want to watch endless eigth in 1080p (at least le las one) please don’t drop it…

  4. Tchi writes:

Just to add to the noise, I would also very much like to watch all of season 1 and season 2 in 1080p.

    Please do them!

  5. Afterlife writes:

    @Tchi
You can always upscale, overblur, warpsharp, overnoise etc. manually with any DVD release and you will get the same result or even better. I dont know though why you want so badly watch this eyecancer.

  7. Tchi writes:

@Afterlife I simply want the best quality possible for this show, and it wouldn’t make sense if you could get better quality than BluRay by upscaling the DVD… If that’s the case here then I’m fine with the DVD batch of season 1 I already have.

But, well, at least do season 2, or I’ll have to grab Chihiro’s DVD release 😐

  8. Tchi writes:

^ Sorry, forgot I can just go grab Doki’s release >_> Please go for it anyway, though.

  9. jusef writes:

Same deal as KnK – if not you, than someone else. We’ve got choice between your slightly bloated release (if you decide to do it, after that drama) or Doki with separate English and Japanese audio (good choice btw).
In the end, we are the victors.

  10. zaockle writes:

you must be suffering from minor retardation, because the quality is so much fucking better than the dvds, and honestly, I don’t see what you are talking about at all. the “loss of detail” that you are saying is happening was just artifacts from the dvds. trust me.

  11. skyhack writes:

Go for it. AFK subs are way better. If you decide you don’t want to do this, can you release the subs?

  12. IZEROII writes:

Hmmm I’m inclined to agree with some of the comments. I think the BD is superior to the DVD based solely on the one comparison. Although the picture is smoothed quite a bit, I don’t believe there is a detail loss that warrants a drop. If anything, the colors are wayh better in the BD and the DVD has a ton of artifacts which are removed in the BD. But, do what you think is best.

  13. E_I writes:

The BD looks fine to me.

  14. Hedd writes:

Artifact seemed impressed enough to not actually troll a Haruhi development.

The OP/ED were completely redrawn, which is the only thing shown.

  16. Ross writes:

if you do this, i will donate money at your next drive.

  17. tormaid writes:

I’m not a big fan of lots of filtering but I think you could make it look a bit less flat. Not all of season 2 was the endless 8.

  18. Bloodios writes:

@Coalgirls: It’s not really all that bad…Well, you can just released the 720p version only if you think quality isn’t up to expectation, but please, do work on it.

  19. misaka_11078 writes:

have bdmvs been found yet? I can’t seem to find any

  20. ChrisK writes:

Well, let’s just look forward to the movie. I heard it’s awesome and it’s definitely going to be full HD.

  21. Jumendez-sama writes:

I don’t see the problem, quality looks fine. 720p will probably be better though.

  22. Shawn writes:

If they don’t do this, i wouldn’t be surprised. But I’m still looking forward to it nonetheless.

  23. ∞8 writes:

I’ve been 10,000 hype for Endless Eight 1080p BD. Just thought I’d mention that here.

I hope you end up doing this series. But if you don’t, oh well.

  24. herfaderpaderp writes:

I would watch Endless Eight in 1080p. Been looking forward to your releases of it.

  25. sysknir writes:

I don’t mind watching Endless Eight in 1080p. Will be looking forward for it in the future if you do.

  26. BK201 writes:

I agree. It looks pretty horrible for BD, but still better than DVD. DVD is always epic fail. But then again, the BD is pretty fail too. Take what you can get I guess.

To echo most people, I, too, would love watching the Endless Eight Loop along with the rest of the episodes in 1080p! I’m looking forward to your release if you decide to do it! X)

I’m callin internet riot if this doesn’t get released :p

    I can’t wait!!!

  32. Twinkle writes:

Don’t bother, video is shit and Doki is offering more options for all the other things that matter.

  33. skyhack writes:

Yeah, it looks like they did an unsharp mask followed by color saturation, not great, but I’ll still watch it. Also, I’m one of the few who actually LIKES all of Endless Eight, with “Endless Eight finally gets to Hitler” thrown in after #8 for laughs.

  34. RoadSign writes:

720p only?! Oh come on, regardless of what they did on the bluray its not so bad. And besides, SHnY deserves 1080p quality. Please reconsider.

  35. tormaid writes:

I think 720p is a good compromise, I hope the 2009 season looks slightly better.

  36. Bloodios writes:

Hehehe…nothing to do, eh? How about consider working on “Bungaku Shoujo” or “Tokyo Magnitude 8.0”? Hehehehe…

(That aside,) anyway…I’m curious as of which episodes will be using Chihiro’s subs?

  37. Gar writes:

720p is all my computer can handle. Looking forward to the series!

  38. Ross writes:

thank you for seeing this through.

  39. BK201 writes:

720p is all this crappy source deserves.

  40. brun writes:

Admin is right about the BD quality being shit. Just look at the windows on the right. If you can’t see the loss of detail, you really have no business talking about video quality.

  41. doomsday writes:

“I’m not guaranteeing that I’m doing this. The Blu-Ray quality is less than par. But I really don’t have anything else to do for the next month or two, and I’m a bit pissed off at the 1-up attitude of a certain other group.”

    which is the other group?

  42. Red writes:

Just asking, in that comparison screenie, was it supposed to be raining there? It’s not moving so I can’t really be sure. If it was, then I see raindrops smoothed out to nothing, which is bad, but if it wasn’t, I see noise got removed, which is good.

  43. migrena writes:

Have you considered doing the same but better? I mean doing an upscale from the dvds to show q-tec how it should be done?

    @Hedd
Artefact edited the same screen comparison that is posted here by removing all of the bg. No wonder poor morons at sankaku are fooled. Again.

  44. sheep writes:

Thinking a about the same as Red.

So Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha The Movie 1st is delayed until you finish this?

  46. jusef writes:

    @doomsday
Doki and delisio.us maybe? But they have right to do that – announced 1080p and are doing 1080p.
    Not like certain someone

  47. Red writes:

So, no one knows the answer to my question?

  48. johnsmith writes:

Does anybody have more than one flipping screenshot comparison?

And preferably one not using a pic from Shitkaku?

It seems 720p will be enough for most people.

  50. chronos writes:

We~ll, I just received the BD’s and watched the first 3 episodes, and I must say the image quality is VERY random during the episodes.

OP & ED are real 1080p, redone for sure.
The episodes, as I just said, are very random in quality, they go from mediocre semi-blurred (like a DVD up-scale) to near 1080p image quality. I’d say it’s like a mix of up-scaled 720p to 1080p, and 1080p parts. Quite strange.

I think a 1080p version wouldn’t be sooooo bad, but I don’t think it’s worth it for just some random video footage… guess 720p is cool.

By the way, the official subtitles are kind of… weird, don’t know how to put it, either they adapted it too much to western audience or they didn’t get what was written in the script. Anyway, it’s cool you don’t use the official ones.
