I say don’t waste your time on either. Your 2.22 release is fine and 3xR’s 1.11 is also fine.
@coalgirl
The American release has the Japanese hardsubs removed.
I’m releasing on the japanese version.
if your drive is in fat (16, 32 xfat), you don’t need to reformat the drive to ntfs, simply run the conversion code using the command prompt: start > run > cmd > enter, or [start > all programs > accessories > command prompt] and enter the following code:
convert drive_letter: /fs:ntfs
where drive_letter is the letter of the disk or partition you wish to convert. This way you don’t need to move or lose any existing data on the drive, at the same time of getting all the benefits.
Now if you’re running on a mac, you may need to get a third party NTFS assistant like tuxera (or its free version), otherwise all your ntfs drives will be read-only.
as for the release itself awesome, thanks! although I will eventually get the BD just to support great anime, fansubs like yours are 90% of the time better than the official releases. so big thanks CG!
is it me or is the English track is off a bit?
does anyone have direct links for the 1080p version?
it would be great if you had direct links
Thanks.
It’s not just you.
At least in the 720p version the English audio is off by a second or so.
Technically, the English audio is off by about 2 seconds. The American and Japanese videos differ by exactly 48 frames at the beginning with the American version having extra frames at the end.
Hi there, I have the first 2.22 release and wonder whether I should get the updated one. Apart from the american track and addition track 4 is there any other differences? Thanks!
What’s the go? is there a delay or not? ;D..
I already have the old release you made before, what should I do to avoid re-downloading the whole thing again ??
Glad I’m not imaging things, the English Audio is off for me too.
To add to my above comment, I forgot to mention I have the 720p version.
This is really shame the character voices are almost inaudible the sound effects and all of that are just fine but the character voices are almost like they aren’t even there could anybody explain why that is, if not well i guess it’s gonna be thora’s version for me this time although that dual audio would have been sweet to have.
See the updated FAQ page.
English audio – set your delay to 2000ms to get the audio in sync.
Voices – Make sure you are outputting correctly. If you only have stereo downmix to stereo for example.
d0es the audio sync issue also exists on the 1080p? c0nfirmation would be much appreciated. ty.
well not to rain on anyones parade but that CCCP pack has a virus and loves to F with your virus protector. It says that it’s a key logger type of virus. So I would watch out. I downloaded it and my Kespersky Anti Virus went crazy over the same program, the CCCP codect pack is very fishy, I would scan before using it.
@Kaz
Well, seeing as there are thousands of people who use the CCCP without getting a virus after installing, I’d suggest you uninstall, re-download it from the official website (http://www.cccp-project.net/), and try again. If Kaspersky still tells you it’s a virus, then it’s just shitty antivirus software.
I hear some people say to stereo downmix to stereo. How would i go about doing that? Is it an option some where in MPC or in ffdshow?
you’re english track is unsynced! fix it
Where is your QC that couldn’t tell the English audio is off a bit?
The English audio is desynced in 1080p too.
Its not just off ‘a bit’, its out to the point its unwatchable.
Eagerly awaiting the fix.
As someone said in a previous post if you can’t wait for a fix, then use MKVMerge to set the audio delay to 2000, I’ve just tried this and it puts it back in perfect sync.
Here is a patch that fixes the sync issue:
http://anyhub.net/file/2n0Y-%5Bcoalgirls%5D_evangelion_2.22_syncpatch.7z
Just move the mkv into the extracted folder and run the .bat file.
Since it copies the file make sure you have enough hdd-space.
patch worked
thanks!
🙂
found a good one here
http://www.animetake.com/forums/h264/16643-mu-fs-evangelion-2-22-you-can-not-advance-blu-ray-dual-audio.html
downloaded it and it works perfect and its only 2 Gb file!
I’m sorry, did you just call a 720p encode of this movie that’s only 2GB good?
Shitty encode is shitty.
Most of the file size is the FLAC audio, the video track is only (in the 720p version anyway) 3.6gb, so a simple re-encode of the audio (I made mine AC3) will save a lot of space.
Why would you release it with an un-sync English audio to begin with? I mean you guys already had the Japanese original to begin with, so why bother having people waste bandwidth and space for a movie which is inaudible as far as the dubbing is concerned? And it’s even more work for you guys to release a patch. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not entitled to anything you guys do as I don’t put any work or money for the projects that you do. Entitled or not, it doesn’t change the fact that the work put into it was too insufficient for release.
Annoyingly.. All I see in these comments is complaints and insults. Whats wrong with you people? How about “Both 720p and 1080p version have English audio sync issues. Is this going to be fixed and re-uploaded? Thanks for your hard work!”
@Char: The original file was re-released as, what I assume to be, a dual audio–essentially, an addition of English audio was made. Now the English audio was added following the R1 blu-ray official release of Eva 2.22–specifically one day after. The English is out of sync by about 2-3 seconds, something that won’t go buy unnoticed, which spurs on the complaints you mentioned. Now, if you’re afraid to criticize the “work in question” then that’s your issue to deal with. No one is insulting the encoders personally, sending them hate mail (I hope not), nor insulting Coalgirls as a group. The thing about a comment section is, and I know that the members of Coalgirls can testify to this, that it’s a double edge sword. On one hand, you receive praise and useful information regarding possible errors. On the other hand, you’re accosted for your work , deserved or not. In this particular situation, the complaints are merited. In my earlier comment I didn’t demand a re-release nor a fix as I’m fully aware that Coalgirls do not have to do anything they don’t want to. But I’m pretty sure that coalgirl has tough skin and can handle the complaints.
It’s not a waste of b/w with the patch above, or manually adding 2000ms in mvkmerge will bring the audio back in sync.
If people just download and not bother to read comments then that is there fault, I always have a read of comments when downloading a big file regardless of the person or group releasing it.
@Hachi: Unfortunately, those comments weren’t posted during the initial swarm of downloads. And it’s not really serious. The fact is that this file was released as a dual audio with un-sync English audio. Of course there are going to be complaints. Stop complaining about the complaining.
As for a fix, one doesn’t need to download the patch nor use mkvmerge. If you’re using a current version of VLC (ex: 1.18) you can simply press the letter “K” on your keyboard to manually add 2000 ms. And if your playing this file in a playlist, the audio sync will automatically be set to its default with every file played. Hence my not demanding a fix nor a re-release. Not everyone uses VLC, let alone, are savvy with the software.
Ah the comments are hilarious. The fix is easy enough and if you can’t figure it out yourself with the tools that the internet makes available then well then you fail. The only thing I’d ask is that a note be added to the description so people don’t have to download and then realise there is a sync issue. The release is otherwise fine.
@Seth
Only non-tech savvy people use VLC. I.e. you
I think VLC is probably one the worst programs I’ve ever used, but that’s me.
^I think VLC is far from terrible, and I’m sure if you put some proper thought into it, you would agree. It can handle most videos files perfectly (depending on your system) and doesn’t require tweaking so to speak.
Though I have to use KMPlayer or MPC, I still believe VLC is justified.
Guys dont stop sharing after you downloaded it -_-. Im even getting much faster speeds from near dead torrents omfg (avg speed is 17kB/s). AND NO MY SETTINGS ARE NOT WRONG…btw you should stop bitching about the sync, download cccp, fking buy a new computer or just shut the fuck up.
Anyways keep up the work coalgirls. I have downloaded like 70% of your completed projects and enjoyed every single one of them ^^.
I think all players have their drawbacks, but I’m with Sayer, I think VLC is far from terrible. I have VLC, MPC-HC, and KMPlayer installed in my system (who says I need one?) I’m quite fond of VLC. Yeah it has it’s bugs, but overall is a simple and great player. MPC-HC 64bit (careful to make that distinction as the other versions of MPC are not as good) is by far my favorite. It too has it’s drawbacks, for me in particular, less options to tweek audio. It also relatively takes more effort in creating playlists as opposed to VLC and KMPlayer. But nothing consequential. VLC, however, is the most popular among the three. Though I don’t mind, if not already known, divulging the keys in re-syncing the audio with video.
MPC-HC: the plus and minus keys should adjust the audio sync.
KM: You have to open up its preferences–>Keys/Controls–>and select hot keys for the audio sync there.
Maybe its just me, but when adjusting the audio sync in both MPC and VLC, the song + lyrics subtitles do not appear. It could be the players though. My issue is that if this was done properly like Eva 1.11 this would’ve been unnecessary.
@Randomness: Follow this link–http://www.nyaa.eu/?page=torrentinfo&tid=202935&showfiles=1, and I think it should take you to an exact version of the file from this site (as nyaa.eu is the tracker for coalgirls). There’s a sufficient amount of seeders, so your client should be able readjust your peerlist and download the file much faster.
@ Seth, thnx for the info dude however it just finished downloading after ehh..3d and 7h lol. Tho im sure ive downloaded the torrent from their tracker(nyaa.eu), oh well.
kudo’s to coalgirls~
the link to the patch doesn’t work. tried with fox and ie. any assistance would be appreciated.
I just finished the movie and DAMN its freaking awesome. Thnx for this quality coalgirls ;).
Hello, can anyone pls provide me a patch, the English audio is not in-sync. 🙁
Many thanks! 🙂
