Thanks for picking this one up. Have you guys looked into picking up softenni as well?

@name, I’ve been waiting for a BD of Softenni as well. Ayako and Nishishi seems to be on an indefinate postpone.

Thanks fo picking this up though, I enjoyed this show ^_^

    Dang. Wanted hi10p.

  7. DmonHiro writes:

You had issues with 10bit? Encoding or decoding issues? Well, either way, who cares? If you’re noticing the difference while watching, you’re not paying attention to the anime anyway.

  8. reculeor writes:

Despite coalgirl having switched completely to 10bit, somehow there are still “large amounts of issues”? Do you mind elaborating on that?

  9. ♦Tenshi♦ writes:

When I say large amount of issues remaining, I mean the downloading populace. Large numbers of people are still having issues with playback and compatibility.

  10. Rai writes:

Is it really that hard to download the latest CCCP/K-lite

  11. ♦Tenshi♦ writes:

^^Its never that simple. The main problem with 10bit is that none of the portable media players support it as yet. The only way to watch it is via computer.
    .
I actually have to bring episodes around. With 8bit its just bring USB external HDD. Now i have to bring laptop & docking station + HDD + bunch of cables.

  12. AlexTo writes:

So instead of issues you mean more like popularity. I guess that I can not argue about that. It happens with every new technology like BD was 4 years ago.

  13. Fat writes:

You say “yet” does that mean in the future you plan to release 10bit? Just curious if I should grab it now or wait

  14. A totally retarded dickwad writes:

Large numbers of people will always be totally retarded dickwads. Why would that change with time?

  15. Nettosama writes:

Should release 720p in 8bit, and 1080p in 10bit then

  16. nwt writes:

    ^seconded

  17. 720p fag writes:

You just mad because 10bit would save too much space

  18. tehaa writes:

Not to mention that some/many have issues with that the computer won’t keep up with 10bit.
Not really because of a tiny cpu or something.
Some laptops where it has a rather small cpu + shared mem + not so fast gpu, which were fine
until 10bit, but not anymore as it _needed_ the dxva/cuda if it were to keep up with 8bit,
and those can’t be used with 10bit (in addition to a tad bit heavier decoding for 10bit to begin with).

  19. asd writes:

    >We will do what we want, and do not care about your opinion.
    and now it’s
    >alright fine we’ll stick to 8 bit because everybody is too retarded to update their programs
    sigh

  20. MikeP writes:

    @asd
You do realise that there are 4 encoders that release under the Coalgirls tag and only ONE of those isn’t using 10-bit because they personally don’t want to.

  21. wewaea writes:

    10bit designed to reduce filesiye… Tenshi… whatever.

I’m just waiting for someone to post “stop watching shows on shitty plastic toys.” harhar.

Doesn’t really affect me too much, but thanks for keeping to 8-bit encodes for now.

^stop watching anime on your shitty plastic toys nigger

  24. Ashes writes:

A lot of HTPCs rely on DXVA for playback of h.264 as well, since they are built on a weak CPU. My XBMC machine for example is a mere Athlon 64 3200+ but it has a DXVA capable graphics card and it doubles as network attached storage and it plays 1080p using DXVA nicely. I could upgrade it to something that could decode Hi10, but it’d require replacing the entire machine except for it’s hard drives… Or I could go download an 8bit encode instead. I choose the 8bit encode.

  25. Animesetsuna writes:

10bit can support for Laptop and desktop that have higher processor & higher Memory ram. It’s true that 10bit reduce size but some laptop and desktop can’t support, not to mention with the old model. My desktop can support 10bit so it won’t be a problem. Since I willing to want a 10 bit, so I am not going to download the 8bit due to size. So I will gonna wait for other fansub to do 10bit. It’s not that I don’t want to download here, because downloading the big size are surely wasting my time, and my speed doesn’t that fast at all. If I have 5MB/per sec speed, sure it won’t be a problem.

  26. ♦Tenshi♦ writes:

I think I should mention, me moving to 10bit will NOT significantly reduce file sizes. I plan on putting it towards more bitrate overkill.

  27. Petrushka writes:

So that means you’re encodes will be almost visually lossless compared to the source, then? That is sweet for archival purposes.

    >>^stop watching anime on your shitty plastic toys nigger

Thanks! =D Been waiting for that post. You’ve made my uneventful day more eventful. ^^

  30. Tri_Edge writes:

    Nice!
it totally fits your personality Tenshi.

  31. nazarein writes:

for those asking for softenni, i was gonna say this earlier but didnt want to plug another BD releaser on this site… but rizlim seems to be doing a nice job with softenni.

  32. edogawaconan writes:

Opening/Ending official lyrics have been released since weeks ago and this supposedly archive-quality release still got them wrong. Awesome.

  33. Whatever writes:

OP/ED lyrics are wrong! Whatever shall we do?!

  34. Nightow writes:

Is possible R-15 and Softenni too? Thanks.

  35. Nightow writes:

For the lyrics, they can fix for the next 2 episodes, not a big deal. But is better you guys use Doki fansub instead of Shikkaku, imo doki subs are more accurate.

  36. Nightow writes:

Last thing, please do NOT use 10bit, i’ve serious playback issues with this format. At least wait when will be more stable and popular and main players will fully 100% support it.

  37. Voyeur. writes:

Aren’t the subtitles a tad big?

  38. alfred writes:

1080p megaupload or fileserve links please? someone?

  39. Noodlestein writes:

I’m a little curious, why do people like Fileserve over lets say Megaupload for example? Fileserve has some lame download limits along with the captcha. 😡

  40. AlexTo writes:

    ♦Tenshi♦ says:
I think I should mention, me moving to 10bit will NOT significantly reduce file sizes. I plan on putting it towards more bitrate overkill.

Perfect then we will experience video quality closer to lossless 🙂

  41. revo writes:

since when do you care for portable media ?
you were always saying “buy a HTPC”

    • ♦Tenshi♦ writes:

I do have one, however sadly not everyone does and 10bit makes it more effort when they don’t.

  42. revo writes:

and that won’t change in few years
so does that means you won’t be doing 10bit ?

  43. anon-niisama writes:

Is CG going to be doing the [C] Blurays? I think it’s a show that deserves them

  44. noko writes:

    @nazarein

You’re aware they’re not even encoded from BDMV, right?

With that said, seconding Softenni with Hiryuu subs.

  45. Tatsujin writes:

For people who still have issues with 10-bit, simply do the following:

    1. Uninstall all third-party codecs and third-party players.
    2. Install CCCP, if you have CoreAVC/DivX (the two boxes at the bottom), make sure both are UNCHECKED.
    3. Go to — http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow-tryout/files/SVN%20builds%20by%20clsid/generic%20builds/ — download the latest file and install.

Now you can play 8-bit and 10-bit files as per normal. For those that want to play with MadVR and are okay with certain issues, go to — http://haruhichan.com/wpblog/?p=205 — and follow the guide.

  46. nazarein writes:

Noko, so you are correct, sorry I only checked Vol 4 which is encoded from a BDMV but it appears to be a different source for vols 1-3. They are uncensored though.

P.S. I believe rizlim plans on doing the BDMV for R-15 as well.

  47. sneezl writes:

Tatsujin, I still have issues with 10bit. Do you have a Linux howto for those of us who rely on VDPAU to watch HD? Hi10 is currently not supported by VDPAU and there are questions about whether it ever will be supported. Nvidia isn’t great about backporting this kind of support to older hardware – they’d rather sell a new card.

  48. abit writes:

    @sneezl –

Your SOL. You might need to upgrade your computer to something somewhat more modern to decode 1080p 10-bit files if you are relying on hardware acceleration to playback video.

  49. Tatsujin writes:

I forgot to mention one last thing, in CCCP Settings. Make sure the H.264/AVC box is checked.

@ sneezl — I have no experience on playback issues/resolutions for Linux. Try the CCCP Official Forums — http://www.cccp-project.net/forums/

I’d also suggest for you to stick to 720p formats since you have an older computer. 1080p requires about twice or more processing power to properly play the video — generally speaking.

  50. meork writes:

    @Noodlestein
They use fileserve because they get like $20 or something for every 1000 downloads, and probably because they can use FTP to upload the files as well.
