Hi, can you explain a little about the “interlaced source.” what does it mean ?!
usually I just download without reading but I’m being more curious about words you use in the encoding world.

    Thanks ^__^

    Why not use R1 subs?

    saw this on another site:

    gg typesetter’s words on these subs;
gg’s m+h tl is blatantly wrong all over the place and you really don’t want to use it
like in ep 1 there’s a scene where kanako is clearly standing on a paved path
and our tl is something like “If I’d stayed on the path I wouldn’t have gotten lost”
while the R1 tl actually makes sense

    comparison;
Dialogue: 5,0:01:54.04,0:01:58.44,Default,Kanako,0000,0000,0000,,{\be1\i1}I wouldn’t have gotten lost if I had just followed the pavement,
But she IS following the pavement.
    R1: I’m following a walkway, so I’m pretty sure I’m not lost…

Dialogue: 5,0:02:19.63,0:02:22.32,Default,Matsurika,0000,0000,0000,,{\be1}What are you doing here, you female pig? (mesu buta)
Protip: there’s an English word for “female pig”
R1: What are you doing there, sow?

Dialogue: 5,0:02:28.06,0:02:30.68,InnerKanako,Kanako,0000,0000,0000,,{\be1}By female pig, does she mean unusual pig? (mezurashii buta) Shortened to female pig?
    She says “mezurashii butai souchi”
R1: By sow is she referring to an unusual stage setting?

Dialogue: 5,0:02:30.68,0:02:32.97,InnerKanako,Kanako,0000,0000,0000,,{\be1}No, it can’t be. I’m overthinking this.
    Yet she’s still thinking.
R1: No, that’s not it. That doesn’t make any sense.

Dialogue: 5,0:03:05.01,0:03:09.00,Default,Kanako,0000,0000,0000,,{\be1}When I went to the zoo, I was told that I was taller than the mountain gorilla behind me!
She says “ushiroashi-dachi”, which doesn’t mean “behind”
R1: I was told that I was taller than a mountain gorilla standing upright.

Dialogue: 5,0:03:14.79,0:03:18.05,Default,Kanako,0000,0000,0000,,{\be1}I’m not yet renowned worldwide for my height like the Eiffel Tower is!
The tower is renowned, not her.
    R1: I can’t be compared to something so world-renowned.

Dialogue: 5,0:03:18.21,0:03:20.51,Default,Kanako,0000,0000,0000,,{\be1}At least compare me to the Tokyo Tower!
    “Seizei” doesn’t mean “at least”
R1: I’m at Tokyo Tower level at best…

    etc

  19. Ovindel writes:

    Thanks!
But in episode 12 are eight chapters 1-8 instead of the ‘episode’ chapter, like they do on dvd’s (and maybe blurays), a few minutes for a chapter. I don’t think this was meant to be this way.

I really did not like this series much, it was funny, just the nosebleeds all over the place killed it IMO, also they skip one part that I was looking forward to. Download speed for torrents improves significantly when you have a strong upload speed. If your home internet connection isnt fast enough for that consider getting a seedbox.

Call me ignorant, but what is a seedbox? If getting a seedbox helps when you have really bad speeds. I would like to have one. But the problem is I do not know what it is <_<

Actually I can’t play it either, and I have the k-lite codec pack too.

    • Cyras writes:

I would probably recommend you to get CCCP and use MPC-HC then 😛
Since 2 using k-lite got the same problem.

  32. Akina writes:

There has been a few time through ep 1-3 that a line in the subs skips/blinks. Not letting one read it without pausing it at the precise moment. Also in preview for ep 4 in ep 3 found a typo. “a” is repeated twice here. http://sadpanda.us/images/404747-PEX66OS.jpg
    Just letting you know <3

    • Cyras writes:

When it “skips/blinks”, it is probably cause of some TS. So either your computer can’t handle it, or maybe your media player can’t play it correctly. A friend of mine had the same problem, but he just used MPC-HC instead, and it worked just fine.

  33. Lilo writes:

Hi. Could you please upload the subs? I downloaded a raw version, so I only need the subs.

  34. Akina writes:

Ok thanks Cyras. I am using MPC-HC though. It’s not the first time an encode becomes a pain to play on my Celeron 900 @ 2.20GHz =-=

And @ Lilo not going to happen >_>
They don’t upload the subs anywhere or do patches. If you want them you’re going to have to download the whole thing and mux them into your video.

  35. Kluster writes:

cant play it either, using cccp+coreavc on mpc-hc

  36. Kluster writes:

nvm messing around with the flac codec, used internal flac codec

  37. chronos writes:

Well, I’ve got a slight problem with this series.

When I use the Internal Subtitle filter from MPC-HC, the subtitles display correctly, with their correct fonts, sizes and location. But thy flash when the images, logos and animations included in the .ass appear, they even disappear sometimes (both of them, subs and logos flash or disappear). I can solve this by making 0 the value of “Options > Subtitles > Subpictures to buffer”, but even if by using this method they don’t flash or disappear, they make the video lag in the same scenes where they flashed or disappeared.

On the other hand, if I use VSFilter (32 and 64 bit), the subs, images, logos and etc in the .ass never flash or disappear, but they are misplaced, with incorrect fonts, and have incorrect size.

The even stranger thing is that when I use the Internal Subtitle filter of MPC-HC and the VSFilter for the Bakemonogatari series from coalgirl, the opposite happens. By using the MPC-HC internal subtitle filter, the images, logos, and etc (not the subs) are incorrectly placed and use strange fonts (though at least in this case they are a bit similar to the intended font). While by using VSFilter, the fonts, placement and size are perfect.

I do not think this is a problem with my player (MPC-HC), as I’ve uninstalled everything, codecs, players and filters. And then reinstalled all by using the latest version. I’ve also tested all this in four different computers and the same thing happens. Am I lacking something? Did you and coalgirl use different configurations for the subs? Do I have extremely bad luck?

    Thank you for your understanding.

  38. Nettosama writes:

I had the same flashing problem with subtitles, it went away using DirectVobSub, its supposed to use more CPU, but i didn’t notice it on my Phenom II 965BE

  39. chronos writes:

VSFilter = DirectVobSub, I didn’t write it as DirectVobSub as there could be a similar filter with a different name than VSFilter that used DirectVobSub.

After testing some more videos, the VSFilter (DirectVobSub) didn’t display correctly the karaokes of various series (gg’s Kara no Kyoukai ED Karaoke, Chihiro’s subs of Bathing with Hinako, and some others). I haven’t found any other video, besides the coalgirl Bakemonogatari, in which VSFilter works properly for signs and .ass animations.

Oh, and though it’s a known issue, by using an ATI Radeon HD 4xxx card, I can’t use DXVA while having VSFilter on. I wonder if there’s a way to do so…

    Anyway, thanks for your time.

  44. Kekeke writes:

Got the same problem with the subtitle not rendering properly (flashing and/or disappearing), especially on the 4th episode. But after fiddling with the settings on the MPC Home Cinema, I finally get it to work with no problems.

I was using Shark007 codec pack when I had this problem, and there’s no way I can do to get rid of the flashing and disappearing thingie. So I uninstalled that codec pack and used CCCP w/ Media Player Classic Home Cinema instead (as suggested by Cyras above).

It really got rid of the flashing/disappearing subtitle problem and the subtitles with animation went smoothly. But there’s a problem: DXVA (DirectX Video Acceleration) is off. As I got a GeForce GTS250, DXVA is important for me as it can play 1080p video files (esp. BD rips) with ease, so I turn the DXVA on.

And here the problem lies: flashing/disappearing of subtitle(s) with animation happen with DXVA on. Oh, DirectVobsub won’t work when in DXVA mode, too. But when I set the “maximum texture resolution” (on Options –> Subtitles) to 800×600 (since the default was “desktop” that time, and the current desktop resolution I use is 1980×1080), the flashing/disappearing problem seem gone. I tried to increase the resolution to 1024×768, and still the problem was gone. But when I set it to 1280×720, the flashing/disappearing problem came back. I’ve tried all the selections on the listbox, from “desktop” to 384×288, and here are the results:

    a) from 384×288 to 1024×768, the flashing/disappearing problem is gone, while
    b) from 1280×720 to 2560×1600, the flashing/disappearing happens

I say you guys should try this and see if it helps get rid of the problem, as it works for me.

    @Alex:

I had the same problem you were getting; the spray of numbers obliterated my rendering speed and whatnot. Tearing into the subtitle file, it’s actually mis-handled vector coordinates. My system for some reason defaulted to FFDShow subtitle renderer, which ASS support is not comprehensive and I think that’s the cause. Reinstalling some CCCP components (not sure why, but Haali splitter and VSFilter [for DirectVobSub] were missing) and redirecting subtitles to use the (in many aspects superior) DirectVobSub renderer handled the vectors properly and it’s all working now.

That said, your issue was posted some three months ago, which hopefully by now it’s been either resolved or ignored. For future reference though, the next guy with this issue might find this handy. Long story short, if you see what Alex posted, abandon FFDShow subtitle renderer for something else.

Also… is it just me, or does this series have the absolute worst ED music in history? Otherwise it’s wonderful.

  47. Masterchap writes:

I also had problems with subs disappearing, I’m using CCCP + MPCHC. I went to the CCCP settings and on the second page checked ‘VSFilter Subpicture Pre-buffering’. It works perfectly now. Hope this might help others as well 🙂
