    I don’t have the videos, or I’d just extract them for you. I’ve used the tool they provided successfully with other videos, though.

    Hehe, I think most of us know how to mkvextract a subtitle stream from an mkv. afk group did great work, but had/has professional ties to the anime industry and don’t want to put themselves out of business so they just released low quality avi’s. It’d be a lot of work to reproduce their subs in ssa/ass format without a back channel of some sort to the source files.

    funny, just at the same day i searched for haruhi BD (even when i searched for the movie) and found out the series gets a BD release, you announce the series ^^
    too bad hitsuji didn’t release the 2nd season as dvd rips with afk subs, just as season 1. but the season 1 dvd rip of hitsuji was really nice with softsubbed signs. i hope you’ll use those scripts with signs.

    @waterfall: Yuki doesn’t just use a.f.k. They use Mazui and Chihiro as well. Also, Yuki never finished season 1. They were going chronologically and dropped at 19/28.

    When you add it up, it’s 14 volumes, plus I think 3 concerts. That can amount to over 1000 dollars. It’s good to support our animating friends over the pacific sometimes. Just my two cents xD.

    Ordered chapters are truly great but unless you can do it properly, without introducing fail glitches or inserting 33 black frames that separate the last frame of the OP and the first frame of the remainder of the episode (like in the Clannad BD release) you’re better off not doing it cause a lot of those who care enough about the material to replace the TV version with the BD version are looking for quality, not the next-best thing. Unless the ordered chapters are as smooth as THORA’s (no, I’m not a THORA fanboy) they should not be used at all.

    Nevertheless, I really AM glad that you (Coalgirls) are going to release all of Haruhi in BD quality, thanks a lot! It really needs to be done. I do think it’s the most overrated anime of all time but I still think it’s good. People often get the idea, for some unexplainable reason, that if someone says that something is extremely overrated it means that he or she thinks that it’s bad.
