Note – It is advised to use XY-VSFilter with these releases, as other filters may break certain typesets.

To watch the commentaries, go into the commentary folder, and double click Commentary.bat. This will extract the commentaries and mux them with the video. Then, choose the episode you wish to watch in the commentary folder and enjoy.

v2 changes – 01/02 font, 01 typeset mistime, 05 preview episode # mismatch, 07 title card # mismatch, 11 title card # mismatch. Episode 01 + 02 also had their commentary patches redone to create 2 files, lowering torrent size by about 600 MB.

    “CCCP Codec Pack Users: Download xy-VSFilter and replace the VSFilter.dll found in the CCCP Filters directory. Open the CCCP Settings application and enable ‘Re-register Filters’ on the second page and click Apply. This will cause CCCP to silently reinstall VSFilter with regsvr32. If you ever run into problems running xy-VSFilter with CCCP, we recommend you run ‘Reset All Settings’ from the CCCP Settings application as your first troubleshooting step before reporting a bug.”

With 2550×1440 monitors starting to become a bit more widespread, is it possible to rip and encode .mkvs at that resolution from the bluray disc? Is the raw footage at a max resolution of 1920×1080? If it is bottlenecked, is it possible to scale it accurately and with fidelity?

    Sorry for the 20 questions! I appreciate the mindset and direction you guys have for anime encodings. I hope this group stays intact for years to come! Thanks!

    Secondly, blurays are hard set at 1080p, which is PLENTY of detail. I doubt the resolution will go higher any time soon, let alone within the next 10 years. Most anime scenes are drawn in very low resolutions, you know? Most is done around professional upscale mechanisms. And thirdly, encoding an upscale over 1080p would make NO sense and would NOT justify extra bitrate (some rips already are 3GB/file…). Let your player upscale it, there’s playback help in the FAQ, MadVR renderer configered with lanczos or spline is as good as it gets. If you really want a 1440p rip you could make one yourself, I could make you a tutorial.

    More importantly, relationships. The dialogues are fun, but it is trying to figure out/understand the various relationships that makes this series unique. And here we have some of the strangest, most intriguing relationships you’ll find anywhere. And the answer to all questions in the end of the final episode of Nise is about relationships as well.

    It is a series that is well worth the effort

    For Newbies:
    1. Watch Bakemonogatari (=season 1) first or you’ll miss out on a lot. I tried all the translations and Coalgirls has the most satisfying script.
    2. Don’t worry about the fast flashing signs. This series is meant to be re-watched.
    3. The artwork is more manga-like than Disney-like: use whatever resolution you like. But it is complex enough to slow down the subs in places, if you’re subject to that kind of problem with 1080p. If you have an i3-2350M or better processor, you should be fine. (At least it’s been fine for me.)

    Please forgive me if any of these are my fault but here are just some things that I noticed.

    The first opening doesn’t seem to be in episode 1 like it should be but rather in episode 3. The second version of the first opening is not anywhere to be found, as opposed to being in episode 3. Both the openings are in the folder, but when you play the episodes themselves this happens. I assume this is a chapter ordering error or something?

    Another minor thing, it seems like the text is really big and blocky. I really liked the font of the subs you guys did for Bakemonogatari, any reason why you didn’t use that font this time around? If you can’t be bothered to change it, is there a way I myself could change it? According to Aegis Sub, the font you used for Bakemonogatari was Calibri 52 but then I try and do that to the Nise subs it looks different. Am I doing something wrong? I’m not a professional subber but I have a very basic understanding of Aegis Sub and MKVToolnix.
