    Hi CG, which programme do you use for your 10 bit h264 encoding?

    I have some problems with the video decode with my MPC.

    I’m using the latest Media Player Classic, and tried the newst CCCP version 25.7.2011-2 and 15.7.2011
    I get this error with both versions 720p/1080p. I tried the PotPlayer which plays the videos fine, so I guess something is wrong with my mpc + the 10bit codec stuff.

  4. namaiki writes:

    @Baer
    That screenshot is from a decoder that doesn’t do 10bit.

    Make sure to use the version of MPC-HC that CCCP installs and use the version of ffdshow video decoder that CCCP installs.

  5. RangerXML writes:

    I’m getting artifacting from both the 720p and 1080p, same I got from all the Yuru Yuri release. I haven’t paid any attention in Nijicho, probably because I spend more time laughing then I am paying attention to the pretty art. In Yuru Yuri, the introduction that plays before the OP is very unpleasant to the eyes (ungodly bright and artifacted). I haven’t seen something this bad since I watched anime in Real Media in the late nineties (or early divx). Normally your guys (gals) releases are top notch and you do a great job, but something is not working right right now. (I don’t normally post either)

  6. papsi writes:

    @RangerXML, @Baer
    When you install the newest beta (I installed 7-15), discard (reset) all settings of the old CCCP installation, without this, your old settings will pop up in the 7-15 beta, and you will fail to play 10-bit files. If you already installed the beta CCCP (7-15), just select “CCCP Settings” from the Start menu. In “CCCP Settings” just click on Next, select “Reset all settings” and then Apply. If you store MPC-HC settings in the .ini file, confirm it’s deletion. too. Now try playing some 10-bit files. I succeeded this way.

    Then you can setup MPC-HC step-by-step to customize it to your liking. During this process, I realized that the actual setting which breaks 10-bit playback is when I enable DXVA. Although DXVA won’t be enabled when playing 10-bit files, it surely breaks the compatibility with 10-bit encodes.

  7. jojo writes:

    @papsi: Nope. But you need to block it, when playing 10-bit files. Works fine for me.

  8. natsugod writes:

    I’m using k-lite and I’m able to play the vids just fine….

    720p version of episode 15 ends some 30 seconds too early for me while playing ED5. The ED5 file itself is alright but episode 15 just ends too early. Anyone else experiencing it?

  12. Alex writes:

    @Kurth Thanks, I also hate CCCP your solution works fine even with MPC and not MPC-HC

  13. Kurth writes:

    To use FFDshow Video Decoder with the Media Player Classic Home Cinema you need to turn off the internal decoders.
    http://i52.tinypic.com/alk7lk.png
    With this the player will use the FFDshow to decode the video.

  14. jindo90 writes:

    Like the new file size.
    @0:43, eps 13, there’s a typo. “So…” => “Se”.
    Thanks for the release.

  15. Danoct writes:

    @pivo

    I’m experiencing it too. 24.58 in v2 vs 25.28 in v1. Can we get a fix?

  16. tubefreq writes:

    You guys should give madVR a shot. In my own testing I found it to be better than FFDshow (that CCCP uses). FFDShow sometimes drops a lot of frames on linked chapter transitions. Here are instructions on how to install madVR.

    One the developers of FFDShow have made it clear that the 10 bit versions are “alpha quality and are not stable.” I think it is a bit premature for CCCP to release a new final version using a patched aplha version of FFDShow.

    Personally I’m patiently waiting for CoreAVC 3.0. The fall-back feature will be nice since it will allow hardware decoding for 8 bit files, and it will only force software decoding when needed for 10 bit files.

    Comparison of yours version and Koharubi version. Keep up the good 10-bit work :]

  18. Ben writes:

    I decided to give a try to the 10-bit version of Bakemonogatari and I’m very very impressed by the quality you guys achieved with it. Took me a while to be able to read it with CCCP/MPC and KMplayer but it was worth it. Not to mention it saved me 10GB of space.

    Thanks and keep them coming! πŸ˜€

    Thanks for the release. Anyone have any ideas why the subs lag behind sometimes for me? On this release on episode 7 starting at about 16:00-16:12 the subs lag behind everything else and the audio cuts out a bit. This happened on the previous release as well. I’m using the latest cccp and mpc.

  24. Rio writes:

    I’m having a problem where when playing episode 4 with MPC-HC (CCCP 2011-07-30) upon entering the opening chapter the video stops but if I’m past the opening chapter the video continues. The same thing happens when entering the ending chapter.

  25. mangos writes:

    I have the same problem.

  26. Rio writes:

    @mangos
    The trick is to finish the OP-ED file first and put it on the same folder as the video file.

  27. NewtypeDan writes:

    @pivo @Danoct

    I think the problem is that Episode 15 has 2 typos in the chapters xml file.

    Both instances of:

    00:01:03.007000000

    should be changed to

    00:01:30.007000000

    You can probably just fix it with a remux.

  28. Anonymous writes:

    Is it me or does anybody else have a problem with Episode 15’s ED song getting cut off? Thanks!

  29. boondaburrah writes:

    Oh man, these videos do a number on my computer. (running mac os x 10.6)

    First: Quicktime blows up instantly (not surprising, even with perian under the hood, it is quicktime)
    Second: Miro can play it at full speed, but apparently can’t do 10bit or whatever, because there’s colour artifacts everywhere.
    Third: mplayer can decode everything (no surprise (yay mplayer)) but can’t keep up on time. That just blew my mind. I have four cores of 2.33GHz, and it can’t keep up. Something’s not right here. I’ve never not been able to play a 1080p video fast enough before, that 10bit must be something special.

    Does anyone have any suggestions? I’ve tried telling -lavdopts threads=4, and it gets better, but still isn’t quite fast enough.

    (alternatively, if there’s an older non 10bit torrent out there, I don’t mind wasting the space if I can watch them at-speed) ~le sigh~ Unless something’s improved in ffmpeg within the past month, it’s probably not worth re-compiling mplayer again…

  30. boondaburrah writes:

    Oh dear, I feel silly for posting so immediately afterwards. I fixed the threading issue. It plays fine now (there were other sync weirdnesses, but they were unrelated and are now fixed) Now it’s off to try and kludge PS3 media server into serving something happy! I wonder if CrystalHD can decode this…

  36. Ad writes:

    I have a weird issue where the objects you’ve used to cover up the signs and such are moving when I go to fullscreen. The subtitles themselves stay where they are though. They appear in correct place when I have zoom 50% or 100% selected though from within windowed mode.
    I’m using MPC-HC 1.5.3.3677, madVR as my renderer, also to decode and ffdshow for my audio.

    I was thinking it may be because I’m using a 4:3 resolution of 1280×1024 on a CRT monitor. But it seems really odd that the actual written subtitles go where they’re suppose to go and the objects behind them move upward. If I was to hazard a guess, judging by how much they move, it looks like it’s about the size of the additional space that’s added when going into fullscreen.

    Also the problem seems to be the same if I play either 720p or 1080p versions.

    I don’t know how to fix this because 8-bit play well,bit confuse…

    Someone over on BakaBT threw together patches to fix the FansubBlock.tff, apparently the wrong version was included. Not knowing much about encoding myself, it does seem strange that I’ve never encountered this particular problem with another group. This fixes the signs in episode 1, at least.

    http://www.mediafire.com/?q1tsp9s1hd99ru6

    It applies the fix to all 15 episodes, but you may want to not apply the fix to episode 15, and instead apply this patch which fixes the ED.

    http://www.cmwp.com/dan/%5BCoalgirls%5D_Bakemonogatari_15_(1920x1080_Blu-Ray_FLAC)_EDFix.zip

    Seems like the kind of things a quick set of official v2 patches can fix.
