wow…. this is out of left-field… maybe lefter than that, actually.
    cool beans, still.

    8bit? -___-

  4. DarkChaplain writes:

…so Tenshi still won’t listen and commit to 10bit?
not to be a downer, but my excitement just dropped quite a bit =/

  5. Daniel writes:

You should of used Commie subs. And I hope your doing the Rinne no Lagrange with Commie subs too.

  6. Jelly writes:

Seriously, why even bother taking into consideration the MINORITY of individuals that can’t play 10bit due to some craptastic Flintstones computer or some shitty hardware dependant media system? At least make your 1080 releases 10bit. Aside from the very few that just want to keep hugging some hardware media player, anyoneone that can’t play 10bit surely can’t play any decent 1080 8bit. I used to like and appreciate your releases, but unless you decide to get with the times, I shall be leaving you behind exactly like some outdated technology to which you seem to want to keep catering.

    Isn’t that pic from Lagrange?…

  8. Drrtyfgt writes:

    Righteous.

And omg is that Bodacious Lagrange pic official? Hi-res?

WhyNot? Srsly? HorribleSubs actually isn’t that horrible.

  9. DmonHiro writes:

Oh my God, guys, why on Earth would you complain about Tenshi not using 10bit, when he JUST figured out how to use chapters. Do the math, he’ll probably figure out 10bit in 2-4 years.

  10. someguy writes:

    Dmon is right!!!!

  11. Sum_of_Thunder writes:

Thanks, Tenshi for a version –Universal 8-bit– we can all enjoy. And for putting up with snotty comments by people who have been know to produce their own 10-bit when they want to.

  12. PBCurious writes:

8-bit / 10-bit – don’t care. This show was definitely the best sleeper hit of the season.

I watched both the Commie and WhyNot releases. In my perhaps not quite so humble opinion, WhyNot definitely scored a better flowing translation.

    Definitely a 1080p crf13 MUST HAVE release!

    Um ..

    _woot_!

  13. Julio writes:

WhyNot released their own version, but I don’t know if they use ordered chapters and if it’s 10-bit or not. Going to check both out and decide which one to keep.

  14. Haruya writes:

In my opinion, the fact that WhyNot released their own BDs (with improved scripts) should be reason enough to use subs from another group. And… yeah, I suppose I’m talking about Commie here.

  15. Swaps4 writes:

I feel like I just got trolled.

  16. DarkSlayer writes:

Can you tell me why you just drop this because whynot is doing their own BD version? Because it’s not impossible for you to make it better than them IMO, or at least it’s not a problem if they do the BD too.

Or maybe it’s your policy to drop a show if the fansub group that you will take the sub made their own BD encodes?

  17. Julio writes:

    @DarkSlayer
WhyNot is doing 10-bit encodes and each episode is 1GB compared to Coalgirls 2 GB per episode in 1080p. Assuming the video quality is the same, people will go for the smaller filesize plus it’s 10-bit just like they wanted. I think they dropped this project because it will be a waste of time and resources to go to the trouble in releasing the same thing.

  18. anon writes:

    @DarkSlayer
They apparently have also fixed/changed things that were intended for a batch of the TV version.

Has anyone checked what they fixed?

  19. Haruya writes:

As far as I’m concerned, Commie had superior editing than WhyNot. Dark_Sage from Whiners also gave them a better score. However, I do not know of the changes WhyNot has made to their scripts. I suppose I’ll download their improved version for the sake of comparison.

Still, it’s a shame. Like someone stated before, CGi wouldn’t have much trouble releasing a better version than that of WhyNot’s.

  20. anon writes:

Having followed both WhyNot and Commie for this series, I prefer WhyNot. And I really doubt CGi would release a better version in script or encode though. WhyNot’s previous BD encodes have been very good as far as I’ve seen and if they’re fixing up their own scripts more than CGi would/does, I don’t see how CGi can really do better.

But hey, I don’t know what they did fix, so I can’t really comment on that yet.

  21. IZEROII writes:

    …thank God

  22. Piroca de Fantasma é Geladinha writes:

People should stop crying so much that they want 10-bit. I don’t see any difference in the quality of the releases and there’s no real improvement in filesize. If the subber doesn’t want to use 10bit is their decision and you should accept it or go looking for it at some other place.

BTW, saying “I’ll leave you” only work for paying customers…

  23. Petrushka writes:

    >will be finished
    no matter what? great!
It will be funny if whynot decide to release new eps after this

  24. korol writes:

Did you just remux? The filesize for the 1080p is practically the same as the raws.

  25. Darkoulis writes:

it’s like dream, i will start download immediately! Thank you, and keep up the good work!

  26. a writes:

Ugh, WhyNot. CR’s subs were perfectly fine. Should have just used those.

  27. elmaton04 writes:

I’m going to wait for WhyNot to finish unless they officially stated that they dropped this project.

  28. Quadra writes:

How are the chances that this 25GB download will be wasted because the final batch is v2 without patches…?

  29. ♦Tenshi♦ writes:

Well, I don’t really have any hope for WhyNot to release anything anytime soon. This project ends in mid September with the last BD disc.

  30. banger writes:

thanks for picking this back up. what was changed from the previous episodes 1-2 that were released? i noticed the file size is significantly smaller and crcs are different

  31. elmaton04 writes:

If batch is release before WhyNot does anything, then I’ll settle for this version. I’m tired of waiting too.

  32. EBXXIV writes:

    THANK YOU ^^

  33. Rai writes:

@banger, in the time between when Tenshi dropped this and picked it back up again, he switched completely to 10 bit.

  34. Ken writes:

    Ordered chps are wack

  35. Havoc10K writes:

I would like to thank you guys for doing it once more, I love this show and am waiting for BDs to be complete.

Also, I can’t wait for the movie to come out.

I have no idea why I love this show so much, i just do, OP/ED full versions are great so I’ll go listen some more.

    Thank you 🙂

  36. Zumochi writes:

    Seriously now, using WhyNot subs?
I don’t say this often, but Commie’s version is much better. I don’t even want to remember what they ‘localized’ “the Letter of Marque” as…

  37. Darkoulis writes:

Great another 4 episodes!!!! still another 4 to go…

  38. Gray writes:

When will you get tired of waiting for Coalgirls to release more Nichijou eps ? Just curious.

  39. Yoder writes:

Still waiting on Yuru Yuri episode 3.

  40. anon writes:

So, WhyNot just released a batch of the TV versions. Are you going to include all their fixes?

  41. elmaton04 writes:

It doesn’t use ordered chapters or clean credits right?

  42. Kel writes:

No fixes from the recent Whynot v2 batch?

  43. Lothar863 writes:

Why are people bitching about free stuff? If this free to you anime doesn’t fit your exacting standards find it somewhere else. I played this on a 42 in 1080p TV with pioneer elite audio from my HTPC.

Looked and sounded fine to me.

  44. Buu writes:

damn you made me think the Rinne no Lagrange blu rays were done. Guess I’ll start watching this series

  45. ohbejuan writes:

Are you going to do the movie?

  46. Anony writes:

Whynot are doing the movie, but they’re stuck in editing for like a month now.
