    Why not Ayako?

    Far far far too liberal.

    1. It’s “Seitokai Yakuindomo”, kthx
    2. Should’ve used Ayako

    I like Ryuumaru’s subs

1st: Ayako? HAHAHAHA! No! Anyone who knows an ounce of Japanese would say “No!”.

2nd: “semimonthly Blu-Ray releases”? Well, happy birthday to me.

Ayako’s subs are nice if you’re impatient and want to watch the new episodes as soon as possible otherwise Ryuumaru and Doki provide superior translation quality, in my opinion. It’s nice to see it’ll only take 3 months although it makes me sad that this series is only 13 episodes long, it’s one of the few shows that have made me laugh consistently even if it is just sex joke after sex joke.

  6. ss writes:

Made my day. Was worried that nobody would pick this, thanks girls (though both Ayako & Ryuumaru had a little trolling on their subs I must say).

  7. lol writes:

@DmonHiro Ayako is just translating the meaning out instead of writing the expression and allowing the reader to intuit what the hidden meaning is. I don’t think that they’re doing poorly or incorrectly per se…

  8. eggh writes:

    Oh my God. Thank you.

  9. hykzqwmx writes:

could you describe the “far far far too liberal” for ayako-subs means?

  10. errhmmm writes:

I agree. Ayako subs are better. They tend to translate the true meaning of each sexjoke. Anyway wouldn’t it be better to include both ayako and ryuumaru in the episodes?

  11. anon writes:

    This made my fucking day!

and Ayako definitely do better tl’s compared to Ryumaru and Doki, you can consider dead

Here’s a sub comparison, in case anyone interested.

Implying you know Japanese. Shut up already, we all remember THOSE ZKC subs.

I hope you all realize that Ayako sometimes completely makes up lines. Remember episode 8? Remember that scene before the OP where more than half of each said line was censored (you know the long BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPs)? What about that one line that was practically entirely censored? How could Ayako get the translation for something that was 90% censored? Yeah. Made up.
Since Doki is probably going to release their own BDs, Ryuumaru is a good choice.

Out of curiosity, how much of this is video and how much is audio?

  16. Anonymous writes:

To those who worship Ayako: I don’t understand how you can enjoy such a show without knowing an ounce of Japanese.

  17. Anonymous writes:

Yeah, we know an ounce of Japanese. Like arigatou, ohaio, konichiwa… If we understand the joke in Japanese way, why we needs to watch Ayako.

  18. Anonymous writes:

^This show is made up entirely with jokes. If you can’t understand the joke in Japanese way then you’re not really watching the show anyway. Ayako’s sub is basically the Godzilla film from Hollywood.

  19. ano writes:

any major video quality difference between the 720p and 1080p?

I thought it looked native 1080p, so yeah.

  20. Asrialys writes:

During that short discussion about the swimming pool, Ayako translated Aria’s line about hoping to not get pregnant. Anyone with some grasp of Japanese would know that she said that the summer would be exciting.

Ryuumaru’s had the least mistakes, as far as I could tell.

well, maybe they make up, but maybe base on manga.

Why only 1 audio track with cen? Waiting for uncen version too.

  23. Rambo writes:

Hope to see v2 with Ayako subs. With Ryumaru the show isn’t that good.

  24. Mockman writes:

Does anyone else have problems with this video? I can’t play it in mplayer. I get a “Track 1 has been compressed with an unknown/unsupported compression algorithm (3). Skipping track.” message. Then I get a gazillion lines with something like the following:

    [h264 @ 0x100893180]AVC: nal size 8020225
    [h264 @ 0x100893180]no frame!
    Error while decoding frame!

    Thanks

  25. Bloodios writes:

There were some clutters, frames slow-down, frames skipping around the AV actress’s interview parts in the first episode, is anyone else experiencing this or is it just my system?

System. That’s a really bitrate intense scene due to grain.

  26. Desert_Fox writes:

wait until i complete it…ETA 24 hours later, maybe XD

  27. Anon writes:

    @Mockman
Upgrade your mplayer to the latest svn version.

  28. Anonymous writes:

While TMZ’s first few episodes aren’t that great, I found that their later episodes have better, more literal, translation with adequate translator notes. Maybe you should consider using theirs for future episodes.

  29. derp writes:

ugh..there are still theses censor sounds when they say things like tampon… i thought they’d remove this for the bd 🙁

  30. JT writes:

Ryuumaru might know more Japanese (I wouldn’t know), but they sure as hell don’t know any English. That shit is always painful to read. If you do insist on using Ryuumaru, I hope you’re at least planning on editing their errors out.

  31. Anonymous writes:

I’m glad the censors are still in with the release. Most people don’t seem to understand that less is more. Or is the beauty of subtlety lost among anime viewers?

  32. Mockman writes:

    Hi Anon,

I did that to 32021. But, I just updated again. Now at revision 32027.

    Same results, I’m afraid.

-From what I’ve seen from the first two episodes, the dialogues went pretty smoothly (in my opinion anyway), aside from that “discuss discuss” from 0:00:51.03 to 0:00:54.10 in episode 2.

  34. Desert_Fox writes:

    No BDMV yet.

    >”bitch don’t know bout ayako’s superior sub”
Does that mean you are going to walk away, stop your pointless complaint, and pretend that this thread never exists then?

  39. banger writes:

does ayako really make up all the bleeped out stuff from scratch?

  40. Anonymous writes:

    >”does ayako really make up all the bleeped out stuff from scratch?”
Not exactly. The episode 8 case is slightly different. However Ayako does take great liberty in changing, or rather, making the jokes much cruder and direct than what it is. People who watch Ayako’s subs probably don’t realize most of the jokes are actually subtle.

By the way Ryuumaru also makes things up for episode 8. Maybe I should find some other subs for this show, or just stick to the Chinese ones.

  41. Desert_Fox writes:

    >”ugh..there are still theses censor sounds when they say things like tampon… i thought they’d remove this for the bd ”

i downloaded the BDMC from CELESTIALRAWS….and guess what?
when the BD still have voice cencored…for example when the girls threw their napkins above Tsuda….

when i heard from CelestialRaws…the voice cencored disappear…

if you want to guess what exactly they say…..it’s a good idea to hear from celestial because….”Seitokai Yakuindomo and Sekirei ~Pure Engagement~ are from AT-X HD premium, and both are uncensored”

    and

“AT-X all the way. Unlike other broadcasters, they don’t make a habit of censoring stuff. AT-X censors neither language nor pantsu, so they’re the only way to go (aside from grabbing the blu-ray).”

just to give a nice idea 😀

    Can someone de-flac these?

  43. a_sh writes:

    @Bloodios
    Thanks for the link.
Actually, it made clear for me that Doki’s subbing sux (at least this show), Ryuumaru seems to have slightly better translation and Ayako has better phrasing. The other two subbers look unprofessional and just not worth mentioning.
I personally like Ayako because of the stamps translations (looks better and more explicit), although I understand that sometimes they are not quite precise.

  44. JR writes:

    Ryuumaru > Ayako

Ayako’s subs often ruin the jokes in comparison to Ryuumaru
